I recently purchased this Universal Ceiling Fan Remote Controller and overall I am very satisfied with it. This product promises to upgrade most ceiling fans with a 3-speed operating sequence, including a dimmer switch. Installing the multi-function ceiling fan remote controller is incredibly simple. The kit includes a receiver which I connected to my existing ceiling fan without any problems.One of the biggest selling points of this set is its compatibility with most ceiling fans. The remote offers three speed options for the fan, and the dimming feature works well. The remote's battery compartment could be sturdier, however; Seems a bit loose when opening and closing. I like that the set comes with batteries.Considering the convenience it brings, the multi-function ceiling fan remote control has a reasonable price.

Ordered this for my Harbor Breeze and works nicely. No more cheap remote pissing me off! The original one is trash! Looks sturdy and was easy to install. Thanks so very much.

dimmer function does not work

Ok the big Q is "Will this work with my fan?"If you have to get up off your duff and pull a chain to operate your fan then YES. This device will work with your fan. This device will eliminate this annoying problem for you and replace it with another. Yes, instead of your time being wasted getting up to change the fan speed you will now be spending it looking for the remote. Your welcome.Tech Stuff:Fan speed is controlled by capacitors. If you remove the light fixture from your fan you will see a capacitor. It looks like a small black box. On it will be the capacitor values. You can compare those values with the values of this controller. Why? because the controller has its own capacitors and will bypass yours. All you have to do is set your fan on its highest speed. The controllers cap values are 5uF and 6uF if your cap values are similar you should have no problem. Mine were and I had no problem. My home has 12 ceiling fans and I still have all my fingers.This device is UL Listed so I will be installing this in one of my out door fans.This controller communicates with the remote via a settable frequency that you set on both devices. this is the preferred method as there is less of a chance of it interfering with another controller. You can also purchase two units and set them to the same address and operate two fans in the same room with the same remote.The remote is very simple. Speed 1-3 and a dimming light button. (Hold to dim) There are no timer functions.I recommend this type of controller over radio controlled versions. I am not going into detail but trust me when I say if the controller does not have a set of addressable switches just smile and walk away.Cheers.
