Portable space heater
I could have used this product to heat a 2400 square foot house with 30-foot high vaulted ceilings. I had the upkeep of a boiler with zones, a wood stove and a propane gas furnace to keep it warm. This UFO portable heater is a different kind of heat. It radiates heat somewhat like the sun. And like with the sun, I am experiencing certain health benefits. The company's literature seems to be written from first-hand experience, not just a good spiel. It sounded true, so now I have two.

Power cord is inadequate for the power it draws
Have used these heaters since 2019 and have purchased 4. Have read some reviews where user reports hot wire and melted outlets. Unit is rated 1500W, but tested with a kill-a-watt indicated anywhere between 1500W and 1700W. These should absolutely be plugged into a 20A circuit which requires 12 gauge wire. I have also replaced the power cords on all my units to a heavier gauge twisted strand (for flexability). The factory wiring is inadequate for the power drawn, which is why outlets melt. Too much internal resistance in the wire.. Since then (almost exactly 5 years) they have performed flawlessly. Feels exactly like sunshine…one of the main things I want out of a heater.I would absolutely recommend these units, with the proviso that the wiring MUST be replaced with better quality, larger gauge wiring (I used 10 gauge for mine) and it is plugged into an adequate circuit.

Bought two and both failed within a year
I can't recommend AGAINST this product strongly enough. I purchase two of these heaters and both failed within one year and they were only being used during the fall and winter. When I contacted customer support they were slow to respond. When they did respond, they put all of the responsibility on me. Send us your receipt. Then send us a picture of the bar code (inaccessible when mounted). Then you will have to find a box and pay to ship it back. If it is found defective it will be replaced or repaired. And, they indicated this could take several weeks. Here is the exact wording I received from them (after six emails): "You will return the item to the address (you pay the shipping label for the return), this will be inspected and inspection takes several weeks and it can be more in the peak season. If this is approved and decided that it is defective workmanship or material (improper use installation or abuse not accepted) we either repair or send the new one."Given my experience, if you buy one of these units, they will likely fail. And, then expect sub-standard customer support.

It would be great to warm up a garage
It’s ugly and I wouldn’t trust it on the pole they offer. It would be great to warm up a garage. Heat doesn’t get to your feet though. Be sure to read all the requirements for installation before you buy to be sure it’s rogjt for your use.

These each require their own circuit
These are very nice and are going to do exactly what we want them to do on our screened in porch--extend its use to all of May and September, but it is important to know that they do each require their own circuit. We would not have purchased them had we understood this. After blowing the fuses and couple times, our electrician is setting us up with some new circuits later today.

The heating range isn't very good. Added a fan
It's okay, it works. The heating range isn't very good. Added a fan, it now heats a room well.

Excellent purchase for the $$$
This heater works great so far. Plugged it in about a week ago and runs like a charm. Puts out a lot of heat for the small area we are using it in. I ONLY wish it had a wider range for tilt adjustment as where is it mounted, I can't tilt it up any further to keep the direct heat off of my neck (LOL). But great on snowy days !! I will be purchasing another ! Thank you !

Good heater but temperature control will not turn it all the way off
This heater really does the job for me, which is to provide direct warmth in the workout spot of my unheated basement when the temperature outside dips below freezing. A nice, strong, even heat. The only drawback of this unit is that turning the heat control all the way down does not actually turn it off completely. I learned this on the first day when I thought that I had turned it off, but noticed little brown-out surges upstairs later. Apparently the heater has a thermostat and the basement temperature was right on the edge of the lowest setting, which made the unit go on and off. No big deal, as I am easily able to pull the plug on the heater when it is not in use.
