Let's compare Monster Magnetics TwistieMags against the Chinese version of this exact same product
The Chinese magties are 4-11/16" long.Monster Magnetics TwistieMags are 5-3/8" long. The Chinese magties are 5/8" wide (top half of each end) and 1/2" wide (the other half of each end).Monster Magnetics TwistieMags are 5/8" wide on both ends (very solid and robust). The cord of the Chinese magties is about 1/8" in diameter. The cord of the Monster Magnetics TwistieMags is about 3/16" in diameter (much more robust feeling). The price of the Chinese magties is $0.99 each with free shipping, no minimum quantity, at ebay.com.The price of the Monster Magnetics TwistieMags has increased to $2.19 each with free shipping, minimum quantity 10, with no choice of colors. The price of the Monster Magnetics TwistieMags can also be $2.49 each with free shipping, minimum quantity 6, with choice of any 1 same color. The disc-shaped neodymium magnets inside of the Chinese magties are beautifully nickel plated and will occasionally pop out accidentally when the Chinese magties are pulled apart. The disc-shaped neodymium magnets inside of the Monster Magnetics TwistieMags are not any larger but they are about 3 times stronger than the disc-shaped neodymium magnets inside of the Chinese magties. The disc-shaped neodymium magnets inside of the Monster Magnetics TwistieMags are permanently encased and will not pop out accidentally. Both products can be stretched moderately without altering the length. Both products are made of silicone. The Chinese magtie manufacturer seems to be worried about being sued for patent infringement.I get this impression because they don't glue their disc-shaped neodymium magnets with silicone adhesive (caulk) to permanently prevent them from ever popping out.I get this impression because they either intentionally or subconsciously choose ugly colors.Exceptions: White, pink, purple/lavender, and yellow are attractive colors among the Chinese magties.DISCUSSION:There are simply way too many applications in which the Monster Magnetics TwistieMags would function better. The Monster Magnetics TwistieMags would definitely be superior for any application in which the magties need to be touched more than once per month. The Chinese magties would be adequate only for relatively semi-permanent applications such as holding together a curtain. The Chinese magties would be superior to the Monster Magnetics TwistieMags only in very rare instances such as when the larger size or the stronger magnetic pull of the Monster Magnetics TwistieMags would be an irritating nuisance. For example, occasionally, the Monster Magnetics TwistieMags will snap together unexpectedly at the worst possible time, becoming a repeating nuisance. For example, occasionally, the Monster Magnetics TwistieMags will be too visible (too noticeable) or too long (for winding up very short or very thin cords).CONCLUSION:Buy just the Monster Magnetics TwistieMags first. Many months later, and only if something goes wrong, consider buying just 1, 2, or 3 of the Chinese magties.

Works well & fun to use
Purchased these to wrangle the seemingly ever multiplying electronic cords, from gadgets, tools, lamps, etc. I like how they are visually unobtrusive, feels nice in the hand, reusable, easy to adjust, all that is better than the metal/plastic/paper type twist ties. Really like using these on my metal bookcases & around the desk legs as the magnets help keep cords even more super low profile. Was so pleased, I ordered a second pack! Haven’t had these for very long, so I can’t speak for the longevity.

Works OK, not as powerful as it appears
Although they stretch well, the magnets aren’t strong enough to control bigger cables. They work better in those instances with one wrap around. In some cases I had to bundle the cable into a skinnier package than I usually do. It would be nice if there were a loop so it could be attached to the cable it goes to and not get lost.

Expensive but great
In love with these. SOOO useful, multipurpose. I use them mostly to group my daughter's headbands, the ones I cant hang on her headband organizer. Limitless possibilities with these. The magnet is strong & not flimsy. Wish it wasn't so expensive. I don't think the price is reasonable for the item but I do love the item. I'd buy a lot more of them if they weren't so expensive.

Magnet isn't strong enough
I thought these would be a good purchase to keep chords organized and then magnet to the side of a device, but the magnets aren't strong enough to stay together when you put any kind of a stretch on the bands.

I use them as a curtain tieback
I use two, together, to hold a curtain back on a steel front door. They work great and the woman who cleans for me wanted to know where I got them - she wanted some, too!
