Yes they are ideal for such uses, one tip I would like to give you is once you have attached the sign to the gate and tightened the cable ties leave a little of the excess of the strip after trimming as they may stretch a tiny bit but you can just grab the excess bits with pliers and re- tighten them, my neighbor done this and his sign has been on his gate for years through freezing and hot weather.

Yes indeed I bought then to tie my gazebo foor to the poles as the ties that came with the gazebo lasted 2mths we've just had a dreadfull storm through Wales 70mile per hr & the roof is still inplace & no dammage at all realy happy with the I will buy these again ther the only ones I will use in the future .
