Rubbermaid Brilliance Pantry Airtight Food Storage Container, BPA-Free Plastic

These containers are amazing. Not only are they truly airtight (to the point that releasing them yields a whoosh of air entering the container) but they are easily cleaned with no staining. I originally purchased these to help organize my pantry, which they allowed me to do. Later, I purchased more because they are airtight and provide a level of confidence that has enabled me to move items kept in the refrigerator (to prevent bug infestation) on to the counter or into the pantry (flour, sugar, brown sugar, etc.). This has saved refrigerator room while allowing me to be confident that bugs can't get in! The versatility of the sizes and their stack-ability were pluses that resulted in me purchasing even more. I have completely replaced all my other containers with this product. I used them for storage of soups, stews, and taco meat with no staining and easy clean-up. I highly recommend this line of products for pantry, refrigerator, and food storage. This particular size came in handy for rice, which I buy in large quantity, and cereals. While I have not tried them in the freezer (the opportunity has not presented itself yet), I am confident they would work there, too. I will likely buy more and hope that Rubbermaid keeps this line going for years to come!

The Rubbermaid Brilliance Pantry food storage products are the best I’ve found on the market. I’ve had other brands that claim to be airtight but my food went bad so they ere a waste of money. The Rubbermaid Brilliance products are true to their advertising claims. They are spill proof so they are great for storing liquids in the fridge, they are definitely airtight; I tested a few different sizes of containers with open packages of soda crackers, uncooked rice, and dry cereals and all stayed fresh and kept their flavor even after three to four months storage. I’m going to purchase more of the Brilliance pantry storage not only because it I can trust the life and safety of my food storage but also because it’s so easy to tell in a glance what is in the container. I recommend the Rubbermaid products for their high quality.

Great quality and keeps food fresh longer.

Works great! Easily fits 18 oz Cheerios or 18 oz Corn Flakes. I bought a 21 oz box of Cheerios by mistake; it almost fit, except for one bowlful. These really are air tight. The cereal stays fresh and crunchy down to the last bite. It was a different size, but one of the same models arrived and when I opened it there was a sucking sound almost like when you open a new jar. It maintained whatever different air pressure there was at some previous time until I opened it. Who knows for how long that was, but it was at least overnight because I opened it a day after it arrived. The plastic is sturdy. It's rigid, so it'll probably crack if you drop it any distance, but definitely not from normal use. I stored some homemade soup (mmm...) in another size in the freezer for a month. The soup held very nicely, the surface didn't freezer burn and the plastic behaved well. I have not used in the microwave. The top has a soft seal and I don't know what would happen to it. I've only hand washed. Highly recommend.

I have converted all my food storage to these products—all sizes! This one is the largest I could find (19 c) and holds a 5 lb bag of flour and a scoop without any trouble. They wash easily and to get the covers really clean, put them in the dishwasher. I’ve had no issues with lid failure from washing in the dishwasher.

Fits one cereal bag that come in boxes with two bags inside to about 2/3 of the way up. Probably can fit two of the standard smaller cereal bags, did not test this. Clear plastic and fairly rigid. I have not dropped this one, so I cannot attest to the durability. My opinion is to not drop these on tile from above 4-5 feet. The design can be improved. Not sure why it becomes narrow from top to bottom. The clips aren't the easiest to open by hand, though they are strong and space saving. I would've liked to see clips on all sides, because the sides without clips don't become flush with the plastic. Having rubber between the container and the lid would've been even nicer, because I'm positive that the rubber on the inside will wear out. I did not test water leaking. Once I find a decent container for food with liquid, ill post a review for that. Expensive. This container though being the largest of the line, should be $10. $15 at most. $20 is too much. Specially if you want to store other foods contained in these or have a variety of cereal you like to switch up to day to day. If you wanted to replace all of your containers with Rubbermaid Brilliance with a variety of sizes and shapes, then expect to spend around $200+. I recommend Rubbermaid Brilliance because of how clear they are. Easy to see what is inside. "Leak-proof", and how the lids are held tightly with clips. The stacking from what I have seen is very nice. They fit easily over one another.

This brand of storage container is my fav. I’ve had one for several years, used to store lettuce and keeps it fresh for a long time. This container and the rest of them is high quality, airtight seal and leak resistant. (I have not poured water into it to test it, however.) Highly recommended!
