Great product, great company.
My four parrots eat Nutriberries every day, along with some pellets, nuts, and healthy human food. My Illigers macaw and Hahns macaw love the tropical fruit Nutriberries, while my African grey and Goffin cockatoo prefer the parrot classic Nutriberries. The birds are in twenties and thirties and are very healthy with no feather destruction issues. Nutriberries are expensive but worth the cost as there is much less waste than with seed mixes.

My Senegal loves them!
My Senegal absolutely loves these! And when he's finished eating one, he drops it on the floor and the dog grabs it and eats the rest -- so I guess these are treats for both of my pets (I specifically order this flavor because it doesn't have any grapes or raisins or certain nuts that could be bad for my dog). I like that they have more than seeds in them so he's getting some fruit and nuts (good fats) and other nutrients. I've been giving him these for years and he's now 16 so they have been part of a healthy diet. I still give him some fresh fruits and veggies every day, but these are a wonderful treat and he likes them because they are easy to hold on to. And obviously because they taste good. And even though my parrot is small (about six inches high), these are the perfect size for him. He can easily grasp them and hold on to them long enough to eat the majority of each ball. I do, however, wish that the bag closed a bit better. It has a ziplock-type seal on it, but it isn't very good and if the bag is left open, the nutriberries tend to get a bit hard. They are kind of soft when you first open the bag. My bird still likes them, but I don't like that they dry out. Sometimes I put them all in a sealed container so this doesn't happen, but still -- the bag closure could be better.

All My Birds Relish These Nuggets, as a Nutritious, Tasty and Fun Treat to Eat
I want to state right off that this delivery of the Sunny Orchard Nutri-Berries was a fresh batch and the nuggets were full and round. I’ve bought Lafeber’s Nutri-berries for over 10 years, at a local store and when it went out of business, I started purchasing them from on-line retailers. Sometimes I was lucky at our local store and I received a fresh package, but unfortunately that rarely happened. When purchasing on-line, I’ve had to take my chances, because receiving a fresh package almost never happened, however this delivery was perfect, there were no broken nuggets, and not a lot of crumbled pieces at the end of the bag. Over the years that I had owned my pet parrots, I have had to change their brand of seed and this on occasion that was due to finding a better quality seed. The other reason was that my parrots are bored with the same type of seed mix, and therefore I look for another mix that is new and different. However, for the all the years that I have bought LaFeber’s nutri-berries, I have never had to change. My parrots still look forward to this treat and I have not found anything better in nutrition or the convenient bird-friendly fun shape that’s so easy for them to hold in their feet. I love that they make these nutri-berries in several various flavors, and my parrots have four different favorites. This allows me to rotate these flavors, which holds their interest, because sometimes they need a change of taste. Some of the Many Benefits of Nutri-berries: 1. Nutri-berries are 100% eatable, there are no seed husks, and therefore there is no waste. 2. Most of the seed and grains are NOT ground up, which provides better nutrition. 3. There are NO artificial flavors or colors, therefore the orange pieces are real apricots, and the red are the cranberries. In addition there are dates and NOT something artificial that may look or smell like fruit. 4. Nutri-berries contains the nutrition found in pellets, and since my birds refuse to eat pellets, this alternative is ideal to supplement with their cooked and fresh veggies, along with their daily ration of seed. 5. Most of my parrots like to hold and eat the nutri-berries in the claws of their feet and therefore these are convenient and easy to hold round shapes. 6. Ready to serve right out of the package, and therefore no other preparation is necessary. Serving Suggestions: Although the Nutri-berries are ready to eat directly from the package, I use a variety of methods, just to keep things interesting. 1. Sometimes I serve these Nutri-berries as an evening treat in a separate food dish, from their nightly seed ration. Each parrot receives 3 Nutri-berries along with a whole walnut still in the shell that I separate into 2 halves. As an alternative, I may substitute an almond instead of a walnut and then add a slice of apple, a large juicy grape, and/or a whole fresh baby carrot. This is only their evening snack and different from their fresh food morning meal. However, this keeps them quiet and content as I finish my evening round with fresh water and a quick vacuum to clean the seeds from the floor. 2. In addition, I use the Nutri-berries in my own ‘birdie trail mix’. I mix 1 Cup of Nutri-berries with 1 cup of organic and whole grain breakfast cereal that has NO added sweeteners, such as Shredded Wheat, Wheat Chex, Rice Chex or Cheerios. Then I’ll add 1 Cup of raw, unsalted, and un-roasted variety of nuts. My last addition is 1 Cup of chopped and dried fruit, and I mix these wholesome ingredients together and give each of my parrots a ¼ cup serving. This presents a tasty and nutritious snack that’s filled with different, colors, tastes, and textures and has always been a major success. Sometimes at the end of the bag are small broken pieces and the crumbles from the berries, but I have a use for these too. These I save to pour over their morning cooked and fresh veggies, as a nutritious topping that adds an unexpected crunchy texture over their soft food. As an alternative use, my few canaries relish any crumbled pieces and I put these pieces in a small treat dish that I hang inside their cage bars. Therefore I don’t experience any waste as all, my birds love the Nutri-berries no matter whether served as whole nuggets or the broken pieces and crumbles at the end of the bag.

High value treats for our IRNs — but not for training!
We have Indian Ringneck parakeets, and they go bananas for these. They only get one every couple of days, so a bag lasts for quite a while. They are each around 1/2” - 3/4” in size, and the birds love to take them to their favorite perch and munch out. They are seeing as high-value by our flock. Not for training purposes — they’re too big for that — but great for getting them back into their cages or as a way to calm them down if they’re going through some big feelings and squawking up a storm.

Great food that is easy to portion and control waste.
My birds love this food. Went thru years of watching them throw half of what they had in their bowls into the bottom of their cages. Tried many brands and types along with their regular diet of fruits and vegetables. The Tropical Nutri berries are a favorite and there is very little waste. Better control on the nuts and pellets the birds are eating with added vitamins and minerals to balance out their diet.

Not the flavor that I prefer for my Amazon
I prefer to give her the garden veggie flavor. Veggies are better for parrots than fruit. Trouble is, the garden veggie flavor is getting extremely difficult to get from Amazon. Right now I've been waiting over 3 weeks for the veggie. Regardless, she does eat this flavor. Surprisingly, she doesn't appear to prefer it over the veggie. I will continue to feed her these (overpriced) Nutriberries, since my vet says the omega oils in it are a desirable addition to my pet's diet.

My Green Cheek Conure is about as picky as it gets and refuses to eat anything that is small such as small seeds and also refuses to eat pellets. These will usually be thrown out uneaten. I tried giving a Nutri-Berry by hand and it was taken and then dropped and ignored. I then put it into the food dish and just left it there and then I noticed that it had been eaten and no evidence of it being wasted. Today it looks like that process is being repeated. The overall composition of these Nutri-Berries is about the same as for example "Parrot Sticks" being small seeds stuck together. They are therefore very expensive for what they are. However in contrast to Parrot Sticks they are actually eaten. My Conure will probably eat not more than two of these per day and therefore the nutrition they provide is negligible. Therefore there is something of a dilemma. Personally I will stick to my usual routine of seeds and fresh fruit and veg supplemented with vitamin drops and mineral block. I will probably buy Nutri-Berries again but use them as a treat.

Dommage
