As a middle class white man, I cannot know what it is to be Black in America. My parents never had to sit me down for “the talk“. I have never had to shrug off decades and decades of micro aggressions, let alone the kind of overt and hostile racism, that my Black friends have had to deal with throughout their lives. I know that.I also know that I cannot just say, “Well, I’m not like that— I’m not racist” and forget that I have benefited from being white in America, because I have. I cannot change the fact that I have benefited from America’s systemic racism, but I can stand with those who have not. I can say— if only with a button—that Black lives do matter, because if they do not, then no lives do.“All Lives Matter” may sound like a truism, but it’s actually a means of denigrating the BLM movement. If I see people injured in a car wreck, I’m going to say that those people need an ambulance. If you respond saying, “Everyone should have access to good emergency medical care,” it would be true, but not helpful. Saying “All Lives Matter” isn’t helpful when it’s Black lives that have been injured for centuries in America.I can’t march anymore, because I’m disabled, but I will still do what little I can to add my voice as we Lift Every Voice and Sing. There’s a sign in my yard, and these buttons which I wear whenever I leave my house.[And the buttons are inexpensive and well made. Highly Recommended.]

I wanted a good size button to put on my shoulder bag that I carry around with me, so I bought this pack of five buttons. The quality is good and they are large enough to be seen, but subtle enough to be nice!I also put one on the front door of my mom's apartment! Highly recommended if this is what you are looking for!

These buttons are well made and the seller seems to sell progressive buttons only (important to me). I buy multiple buttons at once so I can give one away if someone likes the one I am wearing enough to want to wear one daily, too. Thanks!
