Beginner's Guide to SOLIDWORKS 2018 - Level I

I'll soon be changing jobs and needed to learn a new CAD system. I was looking for a good tutorial book that would teach me with the use of mechanical examples. As a Mechanical Engineer and with many years of experience in Equipment and Automation Engineering and Design I was looking for CAD examples in this field. This book is awesome! It has great examples of "How To" while it takes me thru building Mechanical parts and assemblies. It started with a slow learning pace and gradually picked up speed with lessons learned. The author takes the time to show several ways to do the same thing and points out the pros and cons of each. So glad that I chose this book to get started.

I have a background in 3d drawing but wanted to brush up on solidworks because I started a new job that uses it. I got this book and before I was out of the 3rd chapter, I really didn't need it that much more. If you have ZERO solidworks experience... I'm pretty certain this book can teach you it from scratch. I would highly recommend this book to someone looking for some solidworks help and training.

Covers a lot with great detail and tons of pics. The order of contents is a bit jumbled though, and it can be slightly tricky to find the topic you are looking for.

This is an excellent tutorial that takes you through projects piece by piece. Great way for hands on learner to study.

I used it for a college class and it was a great way to get started

Great text, will use it in class this semester.Author has good training videos.
