I live in a warm climate but do wear socks to bed in the winter. Also wear socks around the house instead of slippers. These socks aren't 100% Merino wool which is both a plus and a minus. Compared to 100% Merino wool socks these don't get all baggy and falling down to the ankles after wearing for an hour. They are also less expensive. They feel like there's extra elastic around the calf to keep them up. Overall, they are good looking and a good value.

I am really hard on socks in the winter. Since my summer attire is usually sandals, I have bare feet the bulk of the year here in Texas when I'm in my house. In the winter, though, I wear socks and admittedly, it is tough on them. I'm always looking for a good deal on strong socks I can wear all winter around the house and the idea of Merino wool for that purpose sounded great to me.6 pairs of Merino wool socks is an unheard-of low price (I did a quick search and found single pairs as much as $16), so I had very low expectations for these. However, upon arrival, I have to say these far, far exceeded my expectations. They are thick, warm, soft, and fit my size 11.5 feet perfectly. They do feel like wool, which is significantly more durable than the typical cotton socks I get each year, mainly due to the relatively lower cost of cotton.While I'm a few months off from the weather turning cold enough to wear socks, if they don't live up to how great they appear to be, I'll add to this review at that time. However, in my initial unpackaging and test-fitting, they are great socks at a great value. Strongly recommended.

Recommended. These are comfortable socks. They are thicker than the typical sock, but the combination of polyester (45%), merino wool (35%), cotton (15%) and spandex/elastane (5%) is such that they are not too hot for normal wear - warmer than a standard set of socks, but not so warm to create that got-to-get-these-off-my-feet feeling. They are very reasonably priced ($25.00 for five pair at the time of this review). I'd order these again. However ...These socks stretch well, making them easy to slip on, but on my feet the socks begin to feel "tight" after a while - not compression socks tight, but tight enough to be noticeable. I have size 11 feet. I found that the "tight" feeling passed after 10-15 minutes. That may not be true for everyone. If you prefer loose socks (especially if your feet are size 11 or larger), these may not be for you.
