Great Game: Best Remake
This is a great game and great remake overall. It acts like a double feature for video games. When you finish the first game, it loads up the second one right away. I’ve been playing it for the first time for eight days straight without closing it on my Switch and wanted to keep on going until the end. Although some of the puzzles were tricky and I had to look up online for some tips, but bottom line: they’re all not so super hard. The stories of both titles were very emotional and a little dramatic and served as terrific storytelling done right in video games. Of course I’ve never played both of the original versions, but I can tell that this remake collection is better than the originals and actually improved over them. What else can I say? Again, this game collection is great.

I love this game!
I cried like a baby! It's the perfect remastered game with more cutscenes and voice acting added! You don't have a ds anymore but a switch device now. You get brand new puzzles! And longer ending cutscene. Everything about this is great and if you were a die hard fan you will love this game! This game is everything important to me!

The best type of remake.
Right out the gate, Another Code: Recollection is the best type of remake a dev can conjure up and I highly recommend it. If you don't have it, get it, as you get two wonderful games in one cohesive package. That said, I have larger issues with remakes and the state of the gaming industry at the time I'm writing this, in January 2024.As with last year, it seems like 2024 is unfortunately going to be marred with more remakes and more remasters that prove to be safe bets for studios and publishers. We have The Last of Us Pt. 2 remaster which, at the time of writing, is a title that just came out a few years ago and it is receiving a remaster which seems more of a Director's Cut than a bona fide better performing re-release (which is what a remaster technically is). We then we move on to the Persona 3 remake which just had its original'ish version (it's actually Persona 3 Portable) receive a remaster released onto modern consoles last year. The second installment of the Final Fantasy VII remake trilogy which, notably, actually used to be one complete game back in 1997, whose remake is divisive due to story revisions, is releasing this year as well.Last year we had Resident Evil 4 remake, Dead Space remake, and other remakes dot the release schedule and suck out all the oxygen from the overall gaming discourse while mitigating risk and impeding originality from game developers. Video game fans ate it up though....These are all great games in their original forms, and I will admit that I'm interested in playing all of the above, but I ask myself, are these remakes and, specifically the TLOU 2 remaster, really necessary? They are all accessible on modern platforms through ports and backwards compatibility. To top it off, all of them, minus FFVII, are less than two decades old with pretty timeless art design, graphics, along with gameplay that has aged extremely well. Each of these titles was very popular upon release as well and widely played/enjoyed. Which leads me - and many others - to think most modern remakes are safe and cynical cash-grabs by developers. So, with such a negative perspective on the current culture of remakes, why am I so pleased with Another Code: Recollection? Well, it is the best sort of remake in that it takes obscure games from a dead series released a few console generations ago, one of which didn't even release in the U.S., and brings them to a contemporary console platform with revamped graphics, art, and gameplay. The remake literally is breathing new life into a dead game series. Very commendable and it is a classy way to remake games. That said, there are gameplay differences in the remake compared to Trace Memory (Another Code: Two Memories) on the Nintendo DS and Another Code R: A Journey into Lost Memories. Both games were very reliant on puzzle solving using in-game devices that resembled in Nintendo DS in the first title and a Wii Remote in the sequel and puzzles were oriented the way Nintendo DS touchscreens and Wii Remotes operate. Obviously, gameplay revolving around specific hardware functions of their original platforms cannot be easily replicated on the Switch, so adjustments were made. Story tweaks were also made to make both titles more seamlessly flow into one another, like they are different chapters in a larger story, which is obvious from the menu as you can't jump right into the second game. Purists may take issue with this. The devs, Arc System Works, who ghost developed this for Nintendo did a great job and rejuvenating these two games in a way that is respectful to the original. Additionally, some of the original Cing developers, who made the DS and Wii titles, were involved in this remake, lending legitimacy to the project and reinterpretation of the title's remade elements.Again, please support this game and buy copy. It is a special type of remake of two special games, and I hope it leads to remakes of the Hotel Dusk series.

Good visual novel game, but it’s not for every one
Well, if you’ve played the Another: Code series type of games before, you’d know what to expect. But, this time Nintendo put it like in interactive gameplay & puzzles. It isa decent game, with gorgeous scenery & mysterious people. There are 2 games though in this game cart. You have to play & beat (Two Memories) in order to play the next game (Journey into Lost Memories)
