This Spreader Is Way Better Than My Plastic Spreader
Best Thing Since Sliced Bread. Sorry about that, had to do itI never thought I'd be thrilled with a victory over a hard stick of refrigerated butter. I've always hated when someone doesn't replace the butter in the dish after they use it up. Nothing like grabbing a hard stick of butter and trying to spread it on your toast or bagel without ripping into your favorite morning carbs. This 3 in 1 spreader to the rescue! It is hands down better than my trusted plastic spreader I've used for years. The plastic spreader works well, but it's a one trick pony. Plastic also starts shredding after a spell and that's not a good thing. But getting back to this 3 in 1 spreader - my favorite feature is the grater, as it quickly makes hard butter into spreadable goodness. Chuck one life frustration out the window. The serrated side to cut your slice of bread is also a nice option. My old plastic one cut bread but it's always a struggle.Over all a nice, workhorse of a tool for your utensil drawer. Unlike that bloated space sucking zester, that just sits there doing nothing every year, the spreader(s) will be used often, and last many years. At this price point it's an easy must-have, that will lower your morning prep stress. It will also make a nice gift as you'll have three spreaders, and surely you can't use all 3 at the same time?

Works fairly well for the most part
This knife does cut, curl, grate and spread butter. But not necessarily well. The serrated edge cuts the butter very well. The curls created by the knife is fairly small. Yet, as small as the curls are, the hole for the curling function gets in the way when trying to spread the butter. I found the butter kept escaping through the curling hole at the tip of the knife. As for grating the butter, either the way the grating holes are angled or sharpened (or not sharpened) made it rather difficult. My first attempt, I couldn't do it at all. I kept changing the angle and putting more pressure onto the butter, which did work-ish. By the time I was done, the butter stick had weird indentions from the amount of pressure I had to use to get the grater to work. Also, I would not use this to shred vegetables or fruits as it's written in the description. I did try zesting citrus peels with the tool and found it a very difficult task.Better to stick to butter. Or just let your butter soften and use a regular butter knife.

Good knives
Good quality knives that don’t do the job they are supposed to do. I wanted to use them for serving cold butter, but the holes are too small, and I just end up using the edge like a regular knife.

An elegantly simply solution.
I just received these three attractive and sturdy knives today and had to immediately make toast. What a great solution they provide to the common annoyance of destroying pieces of just-made warm toast by trying to spread firm butter on them. I know, I know -- if this is the worst problem in a day then things are going pretty well overall. But honestly, it is always a pleasure to find a simple improvement to a daily activity. The knives are the size of an American dinner knife, which makes them easy to use. The butter scraping side (with the holes) side does and excellent job of creating thin strands of butter that melt readily on the toast and spread well. The serrated side is quite sharp. Because of the sharpness I will store them like I do other sharp knives, not in the drawer with the regular silverware. The three different finishes are well done and attractive. The information in the listing advises not putting the knives in the dishwasher in order to protect the finishes, even though they are stainless steel. It seems to me the silver one could survive the dishwasher okay, though haven't tried it.

The best thing since sliced bread is this butter knife!
The first butter knife this style we had and used for the first time was half the size of this knife set, it came with the butter dish, its small size was designed to fit in the lid. We loved that knife right away, with all kinds of fancy things it could do with butter, scooping it out... simply fabulous. Had no idea there was such a butter knife to make life at breakfast much easier when tried to spread butter on toasts! Then we saw this trio full-size butter knife set... gotta have them, of course. Now, we only use it with butter, being longer with longer handle, we could use it to scoop out say, peanut butter out of a deeper jar where the little old knife couldn't reach. This full-size butter knife is a must have, very versatile and very useful... bring on the butter, PB, and whatever, we are ready! Spreading butter on toasts just isn't the same anymore. The best thing since sliced bread is this butter knife!

I like the concept but it falls a little short
I really like the concept of these butter knives. It has three different ways to apply butter to your food. To use the side with all the little holes takes the most skill; you have to hold it flat on the butter and run it perpendicular to get it to work. I liked the serrated edge the best. It was easiest to use and apply the butter. The end of the knife enables you to curl the butter. It was a pretty addition and also easy to use. Overall, I can’t say my life was changed with these butter knives. I do like the three finishes and cute bags the knives came in. I think the knives are well made and would last a long time. However, I would probably pass on purchasing these if I had the opportunity again.

Wacky multi-use knife
These are really cool looking. The metallic colors are eye popping and the multipurpose design is neat. I have used this to cut a tomato and it worked reasonably well, but I’d rather use a knife dedicated to cutting vegetables. When spreading butter or peanut butter the little holes get filled and it makes hand washing it messy (I don’t have a dish washer).
