It's not working for me !!
I have used this trap since May 2025. It has failed to trap the animal ,that has been killing my chickens. The bait has been eaten and or removed from trigger plate. The trap is closed , but no animal is caught in the triggered trap. This has happened at least 6 times.

Cheaply built, but got the job done for me. Good value.
Why did you pick this product vs others?:I needed to catch a few feral rabbits that had taken up residence under my shed. Worked a treat. I was able to catch all of them in 3 days. The "front door" wouldn't go back into place exactly, but it still works.

Works!
Originally got this to trap a raccoon that was coming into our cat's back shed room and literally sleeping on top of his house. Never did trap the raccoon but I did trap....the cat. Atleast I know the trigger mechanism works. I eventually just returned it because I'm accepting the raccoon I'm after is too wily for this. He also hasn't been coming around often so it's less of a concern now. However, if you have animals that are constantly in your vicinity, this is great. Easy to setup and get it armed once you learn it. Would recommend.

Good Trap---but
I have one smart and strong racoon that got out the back. Bent the securing rod --even managed to bend the trigger rod. I put the trap back together and put wire ties securing the back. Suggest you do the same just incase. The first night made the mistake of putting the bait under the trap. He tipped it over. Second night I place a heavy brick on top--tipped that over and somehow got the bait out. Third night --staked the trap that's when he tore the trap up.

Mixed match peices and too long bar but ok
The trap is set but I tried to see if it works but the item is so bent underneath that it didn't catch the first few tries, had to pay another business to get it unbent and a shorter bar to have it catch finally the killer of my ducksIt could just be amazon shipping but was a little odd why some pieces kinda mixed/matched odd parts of itNeeded to put a little much money down on it but thank you, finally got the sucker

3 Racoons & 2 Possums First 2 Nights = Great Cage Solution
Metal trap arrived on time & was easy to set up with NO tools! Caught 3 Racoons & 2 Possums the first 2 nights. One Bull Racoon tried it's best to tear up the cage but it stood up to the abuse & is set & ready tonight #3. I followed earlier review's suggestion to zip tie the front & back panel frames to the cage which prevents an aggressive animal from kicking the front or back end out. Painted black is also good. Easily folds back up for storage if desired. Racoons have been climbing atop our pool cage & using as a trampoline causing damage climbing up & down so this is already a great investment. Recommend for sure.
