I don't know how this can be a professional product? No chef would waste their time with it. The basic problem is that the wire breaks too easily as the point where it is held. Replacement wires are very expensive as they seem to come from the US. If I'm careful the wire might last a couple of weeks, but I don't want a cheese slice that breaks this easily. I tried some other cheese wires from KitchenKraft, but sadly I couldn't get them to fit. Instead of buying replacement wires buy yourself some plastic cheese slicers, they break, but not as easily or quickly as this over-rated product.

Keep looking at the top think i lost the top but not got a screw but it nice and i love it I brought a cheap one Eventually broke so I checked around until the stainless steel one and it is lovely and it’s not going to break and the good thing is you can buy replacement blades to cut it so I think it’

We've had a couple of the cheap (£2.50) plastic cheese slicers which last a couple of years & eventually snap so decided to pay more for this stainless steel one. The wire snapped on very first use, so we are returning. Really disappointed.

Terrible qualité, je suis très déçue ! Le couteau s'est cassé dès la 1re utilisation, j'ai juste voulu couper une tranche et l'elastique en acier a explosé d'un coté.

I got this without reading the reviews and I gotta say my experience has not been what some people are reporting here. This is a very nice wire cutter with a nice design. The threaded end piece allows you to keep a very tight wire, which makes a better cut. I don't know how so many people are breaking these, but I imagine they are trying to cut through thick rind, which this isn't great for. However, this will do just fine on harder cheeses parmesan, pecorino, etc.. I just recommend using a knife to cut or remove the rind and use this for slicing.
