A Good Combination
Before the pandemic, and even since then, we did alot of travelling, with very few places off limits. Unfortunately, recent events are making the immediate prospect of going somewhere somewhat more fraught, but hopefully these things will also soon pass and the world will open up again.Whenever that is, one of the items needed when going to different countries are converters. Different countries use different voltages and plugs, and if you don't have the appropriate device to make your electronics and appliances work with that system your items are rendered basically useless, as you can't plug them on or the current is wrong. Truthfully, this was a bigger problem decades ago, but now many hotels provide plugs and electricity in the room for your items. Still, one cannot discount the possibility that you will be somewhere that doesn't, and so preparation is needed, lest your cell phone, camera battery and hair dryer become paperweights or bookends. This adapter/converter is a one stop solution to these problems. It converts the voltage between 220 and 110, and gives four adapter plugs that will enable you to plug in virtually anywhere in the world. Between these two features you should be able to use anything electronic wherever you are. The main unit itself is not big nor heavy, and the adapters are only as big as needed; bringing it should not be burdensome, especially as a nice mesh bag is included to carry everything. We have not gone anywhere since receiving it. but I am currently using it at home to transform one outlet into two, and it is working fine for that purpose.I have every reason to expect that when called upon to convert and adapt that this product will do fine. It is a very good concept and seems well constructed. It will definitely be coming with me on my next foreign trip, which I hope is real soon.

A Quality Voltage Converter!
I recently took a trip to India, and let's just say I was dreading the hair dryer situation. This little converter handled everything I threw at it, from my hair dryer and straightener to my clothing steamer. No more worrying about fried electronics or bad-quality converters – this unit powered everything flawlessly. The built-in USB ports were surprisingly useful! I charged my battery packs and iPad overnight without needing any extra adapters. It saved space and kept everything organized.Unlike those bulky converters of the past, this DoAce converter is super compact and lightweight. It fit perfectly in my carry-on and while a little on the heavy side it didn't take up any precious suitcase space.Overall, this converter is powerful, versatile, and incredibly convenient. If you're traveling to a country with different voltage, I highly recommend the DoAce 220V Converter. It'll keep your hair happy and your gadgets charged, all in one compact package.

Seems ok, but the power level in converter mode is not consistent
This item has two outlets. One is always in converter mode, the other is always in adapter mode. I like this better than a single outlet with switch, which seems like it would be just a bit too easy to get wrong. Why is it ungrounded? Seems like adding a ground pin would be an easy improvement.Adapter mode is fine.Converter mode is a bit scary and doesn't accept a 3 prong plug. I tested this in new zealand (they have 240v, 50hz power) using a 700W mini vacuum cleaner for sealing vacuum travel bags. When I turned the vacuum on, it would run at a reasonable speed, but after 20 seconds or so of use, it would speed up to what seemed like too fast, faster than it does when i run it at home, which would imply it's taking more power. It was also producing a distinct ozone smell, which is probably an indicator that it was running over-powered and this is likely to degrade the motor brushes quickly.I'm not sure why the power level wasn't constant. Did i receive a faulty item? It seemed to work, aside from the weirdness with the power level.Despite the power level change, this one seemed to be friendlier to devices than the other one i tried (in terms of the somewhat scary 50hz hum and the ozone smell they made when running. Maybe it uses a better pwm modulation scheme? I don't have the tools to test this.

Versatile Adapter/Converter
I got this DoAce C13 0-2000W Travel Voltage Converter for an upcoming trip to the UK. I like that it is both an adapter that will allow me to use dual voltage devices and a voltage converter for devices that are 110V with mechanical switches. While most of the devices I will take are dual voltage and will work with an adapter, I have one or two items that require a converter, so with this I will not need to take both. I wish this device had USB ports as well, and some versions do; unfortunately this version does not. I do have another adapter that has USB ports, so I shouldn't have to carry extra charging blocks, but more USB ports are always better. Overall, this is a solid looking adapter/converter with plugs for many different parts of the world, and it also comes with a nice carry bag. I have not used it yet, but I am confident it will serve me well on my upcoming trip.
