Climbs hills. Good range. Strong build.
My previous scooter was a generic clone of a popular low-cost Xiaomi scooter. For $200 more, this Ninebot F2 Pro is immeasurably better in every metric.HANDLING: The handlebars are wide enough for good maneuverability. It feels more stable than the generic scooter. When I ride this scooter, it doesn't feel like I'm on the edge at all times, it's a more relaxed ride. I have enabled the stability enhancement feature in the settings but don't really understand how it works.SUSPENSION: These 10-inch air tires coupled with a front-only suspension feel much smoother than the generic scooter with front and back suspension and 10-inch solid tires. My knees don't feel sour after an 11-mile ride.BRAKES: Excellent braking power, even while going downhill. The front wheel has a proper mechanical disc brake. I configured the battery regen setting at Medium so it helped with braking. The scooter didn't exceed 16 mph while traveling down a medium hill thanks to that feature. If you ride this scooter in city blocks and time the distance to the intersection properly, you will rarely use the manual brake lever.HILL CLIMBING: I live in San Francisco and we have 4 levels of hills: small, medium, big, and heart attack. This scooter can climb a medium hill at a consistent speed of 13 mph, which is very impressive for the price and the single motor. It feels powerful and fast. In comparison, the generic scooter was unable to climb the upper half of the same medium hill without assistive kicks.DISTANCE: I weigh 165 lbs and used the max 20mph speed setting. I rode it in the city so the scooter had to slow down at every intersection. I release the throttle after crossing 3/4th of the block to allow it to slow down instead of braking hard at the intersection. I traveled 11 miles with 30% battery left. The terrain was approximately 33% flat, 29% small hill, 5% medium hill, and 33% downhill. Sometimes I used the throttle while riding down the small hills because the battery regen feature slowed it down too much, so I plan to configure it to the Lowest setting. The generic scooter also had a battery regen feature but that felt like a gimmick compared to this. I'm happy with the range. If you live in a flat city and use a slower speed, you'll get a very long range from this.APP: There were three firmware updates immediately after logging into the app. You can customize pretty much everything. Pairing its built-in AirTag with my iPhone required only a minute.ADDONS: The hook is great; I can hang groceries and other stuff. The brake light is big and visible. Turn lights are a nice addon.I will update this review after several weeks.

It’s fun!
A friend recommended getting a scooter for fun , running errands and just ditching the car. I wasn’t sure if I’d like it. Thought it was a kids thing. I love it! Ride several times a week. The hook can hold two plastic grocery bags. Love riding into town and ditching the car. We get small groups for urban assaults. For reference this is the F2 Pro.6’ tall, 50yrs old, male, at 208lbs.Eco is nice for sightseeing& slow cruise. it’s actually nicer to look around at 9mph .Drive mode accelerates rather slow at first then gets faster. Cap at 16mph. I usually use this mode on cruise control 12-13mph when going places. I get a little over 16 miles range including a 1mile long bridge. Setting the cruise at 15 for the bridge it slows to 12.5 near the peak but never stops. It will not start well from a stop on an incline in this mode.Sport mode is FUN with brisk acceleration up to 20mph. Setting cruise at 15 for the bridge in this mode it only slowed to 14.5 just before the peak!Lights, turn signals, code lock all good. Love the smooth ride on the air tires. It folds up and is portable but not far at 41 lbs. I put a phone mount on the bars and use the detailed dashboard on the app. I also added some led lights for underneath to make it more visible at night . Love it so far.

Fantastic scooter — 500 miles in SF
This scooter is amazing. Components are very high quality and integrated exceptionally well. It is very nimble and looks great in person.* Great handlebars. Better than most other Ninebot models with narrower cheaper-looking handlebars.* Very maneuverable. Wide deck and handlebars combined with the scooter’s light weight provide great handling.* Turn signal indicators are exceptional. SUPER bright, and visible both behind and in front of you because they’re mounted on handlebar edges and have lights on the front and back. They’re so bright they’re even somewhat visible in the daylight. Given that you normally have both hands on the bars and can’t indicate direction with your hands, these turn signals are a game changer when riding on roads.* Super portable at 40 pounds. Easy to fold and fairly compact. I’ve taken it on elevators, escalators, into grocery stores, shopping malls, coffee shops… It’s great for running errands around the city.* Speaking of shopping, the included hook on the stem is fantastic. Just right for 1-3 plastic grocery bags. Way better than hanging bags over the handlebars.* On full battery, easily gets up to 20mph. Wind and hills aren’t a problem. It does well even on SF hills.* Display and software are great. Apple Find My software feature and ability to connect to the scooter when it’s off remotely via Bluetooth and check settings or turn it on (and off again) are great.* Great build quality. Nothing rattles, no fenders falling off, and doesn’t look like an untested parts bin (which so many other scooters do). Trustworthy scooter build quality is hard to come by. Many cheap parts bin scooters eventually suffer from stems snapping due to metal fatigue. Yes, imagine that happening at full speed. Given Segway’s extensive experience with rental scooter fleets, their build quality is on another level from most of the competition.Having ridden the scooter for 500 miles, it’s not without cons. Nothing major, but I hope they’ll come out with a more advanced model in the future.* Performance drops off below 40% battery. Sport mode effectively becomes Drive mode. Below 10% it’s crawling at 12mph or less. Definitely don’t expect to be riding until the very last mile of range.* Range at the highest speed is so-so. My 13-mile commute is somewhat hilly and very windy, with a few stops. I’m 170 pounds with gear, and I get home with just 25% left. Given the performance drop-off at the end, the effective range is just ~15 miles at the full 20mph speed.* The stem latch mechanism unlatches easily if the scooter is laying on the side. Annoying if you need to lay the scooter down, e. g. in the trunk. It’s also latching off-center, which makes carrying the scooter a bit awkward.* I wish it had hydraulic suspension. The front spring suspension and soft tires smooth out small cracks, but you definitely wouldn’t want to hit a big pothole. If you hit a lot of cracks or bumps at full speed, you’ll have sore legs.* The brakes are mediocre. It’s only a front disk brake. There’s no ABS. The brakes are tuned to be gentle and progressive rather than offer max stopping power. It’s good for not flying over the handlebars, but bad if you’re a more experienced rider and need to stop NOW. I wish the scooter had an electronic brake in the rear.* The scooter is limited to 20mph. It won’t accelerate past that. It’ll also beep at you if you exceed 20mph going downhill. On full battery, if not for the limiter, it could certainly go faster than 20. I wish it could do 25 to keep up with traffic on 25mph roads.Overall, it’s a great scooter for what it is, and I definitely recommend it. I don’t know why I expected more than was advertised. I may have been better suited by the G2 Max, but it’s much less portable, doesn’t handle as well, and has (imo) a worse deck. The grass is always greener somewhere else. I hope they’ll make an F2 Pro Max in the future. In the meantime, the F2 Pro is a great choice you won’t regret.

Wonderful escooter. Worth it!
I love this scooter. It's reliable and coasts on sport mode. Pretty easy to assemble, not a lot of steps. A little bumpy on the road but this is my first escooter. Great job Segway!
