Cool device
The device is tiny and stable, so it's easy to make recording unnoticed. It's easy to use. It has a touch screen, and you can get rid of lens distortion with a single movement, although I found this out by accident. It can be turned on immediately and is ready to use. All in all it's a great stuff, that is exactly what I was looking for.

Loop recording does not work - card full
I have used this a lot in the 2 weeks I got it. My aim was to record where I go without having to press start recording. Loop recording is the deal breaker. Initially, this appears to work. So I then adjusted the settings: date and time, loop duration, motion detection, WDR, sharpness etc. I primarily used the "long" battery which acts a bit like a handle, and sits better in pockets. It is then that things became a little bit bad. Whatever sd card size I put in, it will show "card full" after a few minutes, even with the lowest picture setting. I re-formatted the sd card. I changed the setting to default. With the "long" battery, there is a control button on there; which means when you use it with the camera part, you have two control buttons. The fault occurs whichever button you use. Ok, with motion detection on, you don't need to press record. I have tried with motion on, and off. I have tried with the key LED on and off. As surely as it should not do, it says "card full" after a few minutes - things become apparent when you use the Playback mode, or view files on the computer, it has stopped recording after recording the first file. It is confusing itself that Loop recording is on, yet, it cannot create new file. There got to be some positives. The picture quality is not too bad, best thing is the EIS stabilisation, probably as good as action camera (which is what it says it does). I don't mind the size, in fact I prefer it even smaller. The small screen is fine for me. The range of options available is a good thing too, from various resolutions to audio to wdr to wifi.A snag with the app is that the recorder will stop recording when you activate wifi. Or rather you have to stop recording and then start wifi. When the wifi QR code shows up, the recorder will wait for connection and cannot do anything else while waiting. If you don't make connection, the QR Code will sit there for probably a minute and then resume back to standby screen.Connection via wifi is pretty hit-and-miss. If you choose to scan, there is a delay before it connects fully. If you use the manual option, that does not always work, and fails to connect. Then, while you can operate the recorder from your phone app, you no longer can operate the recorder itself, it will have to be controlled from the app. Although the screen on the recorder is way smaller than that on the app, at the end I preferred using the recorder screen. I feel there's a slight delay with the app.If this has worked properly, I would then try to use it as a camera for live stream a lecture, trying to link it to OBS for multiple camera feeds into Zoom. The camera can provide live streaming but it needs a server with that service running. In summary, great potential, but this fails on the basic function of loop recording. Yes, it's being returned.

SJcam minus the J
Fake 4k video, 20mp photo. 2.7k at best (wide with no stabilization) or 2k with stabilization.Lens is very soft, auto wb completely off (cold) with very aggressive sharpening by default. No additional photo detail past 5mp, hence suspect a 5mp imx335 sensor is being used as per c200.Battery life @ 1080p 30 approximately 2hrs with the small pocket version - however try finding additional batteries for purchase!

Bad battery and bad customer service by SJCAM
I bought one of these cameras from a different website because it was more affordable than Amazon.I can honestly look over the fake 4k, fake night vision etc because as a camera, it’s fine. I genuinely like it BUT the problem was with the battery. The pins were broken out of the box so I contacted SJCAM directly and the only thing they could recommend was sending the whole camera back to China and wait 2 months for a refund. All that was needed was a new battery pack so instead of either them sending a part refund (with the return of just the battery pack) or sending me a new battery, I’ve had to buy a complete new battery pack (which isn’t cheap). It’s annoying because the actual camera is decent. Not groundbreaking but it’s alright.
