The shelf is easy to put together, and looks good (wife approval).As other reviewers have stated, the wood is very soft and light. With that being said i would not put a drink or a real plant or anything that could get wet on the shelf.With regards to building it, i would just screw in the screws by hand so you can feel the resistance in the wood before you accidentally strip the wood. I should also add that while all of this can be done by a single individual, having an extra set of hands does in fact help align up the frame and the wood, as well as holding it up on the wall leveling it, marking the holes.I cannot stress enough to also get some decent drywall anchors or mollys vs what these kits are packaged with.We are using this shelf to hang our Tonal accessories, you can find the mounting clips on Etsy, we mounted these to the underside of this shelf.

Bought this originally for a living room. It's very light and a lot smaller than I thought. I ended up hanging it in the bathroom. Out of sight, but useful.

I love it and I hold my heartland books on it and it is made with real wood.

The shelves are nice. I instructions look easy. They’re cery substantial. Just too latge for the space i need them. Wish I had these first and hung others around them. I walked the entire house trying to find somewhere else to hang. Had to reluctantly return them

No preformed holes for screws. Hard to get the shelves straight and almost impossible to fit a screwdriver in, much less a drill.

The "wood" shelf boards are very light probably hollow and they flex easily.It does look nice and the metal frame is solid but the flimsy "wood" shelves won't hold much weight

This item was wall mounted to be used for toiletries for guests. Easy to assemble and mount.

The shelf looks great once assembled. You would never know that it is not solid wood. Note that it helps to have 2 people to assemble. Someone to hold it steady while the other screws in the tiny screws that hold the frame to the faux wood and again when positioning and levelling on the wall. When I first unwrapped it I questioned my choice, but now that it is on the wall, I am very happy with it.

I just put this up last week in my bedroom. Shelf came with necessary hardware (screws, wall anchors) and was a breeze to set up. The boards are lightweight, but I actually prefer that as it means less weight overall on the mounting hardware. Mine did wind up being slightly crooked on the wall, but that was entirely my fault (first time using wall anchors, I botched it a bit).This is a very nice shelf once set up, can support a pretty good amount of weight if wall anchors are used (I could safely add several more books, etc. if I wanted), and overall, I’m quite pleased with my purchase.
