I was surprised.
I have been disappointed in radios made within the last few years. This radio however is different. The controles are easy to use and the sensitivity and selectivity are surprisingly good. The shortwave can be tuned to the precise frequencies and the reception is good overall. This radio is nearly as good as many other, more expensive radios that you can buy. If you are more serious in wanting to hear shortwave you can buy a retractable reel antenna. You can unreel it to bring in weak signals and when done, reel it in like a tape measure. Shortwave radio stations are not as plentiful as back in the 1970’s, or, ‘80, but many are still out there. The FM section of the radio is very good in both its sensitivity, as well as its selectivity. (Better than radios of equal or greater cost.) I like this radio because of its great reception and low cost so much that I have decided to buy 3 more!. It is a well designed, and well made little radio with great sound.

PECSU AM FM SW Rechargeable Radio
The media could not be loaded. PECSU AM FM SW Rechargeable Radio.Likes:Includes FM college band (70-108 Mhz).SW coverage 2.30 to 21.95 Mhz.Thumbwheel tuning. Plus direct keypad entry.AM band in 10 step for USA by default.Battery came charged already to power on radio.Replaceable rechargeable battery.Alternatively you may use three AA batteries.Good sound.Separate power switch on top of radio.Set and remember volume.Seems to remember last station for each band.Direct frequency entry via keypad.Factory sealed gift box.Complete volume control, good night stand radio.MP3 USB or tf card player.Dislikes:Some RF noise. AM display goes off after a few seconds, but not on SW.Defaults to FM band when powered back on.Older style recharging plug on radio.Overall a nice radio for the money. Wish AM frequency did not go blank after awhile, but probably aids in better reception. Comes with USB charging cable and instructions sheet.

Pocket size
Nice small radio. I like that it is digital tuning and rechargeable battery or plug in. This little radio has good volume also. Fm reception is good. You know how am radio is hit or miss. Comes in handy for having some background sound at work. I can catch the news, a game or listen to some music. It has a ux ,USB and SD slot also but I have not used those yet. Over all good deal. Only thing I would add is bluetooth and a back lit display..

AM is extremely noisy with too much interference
The product comes attractively packaged which led me to believe this radio would perform better than I expected. I was disappointed at the noise on the AM band and weak receiving of that band. SW, FM and all the other functions were adequate.

The battery dies really fast.
The battery takes some time to charge and it lasts for a great portion of the day but it just lasted a couple days past the return date. Don’t buy it. It’s small. It has ok sound and its easy to use but once the battery dies you can’t just plug it into the wall because it won’t work like that, sooo silly!

A great little radio
I really like this radio- simple, straight-forward, a good backup or emergency option. It can scan the band and saves stations automatically or you can 'direct dial' a frequency with the buttons. Unfortunately there is no option to manually enter and save your favorite stations, or remove scanned stations you won't listen to (Country, Spanish language, etc.) The sound is good but not excellent; it has an earphone jack. I like the option for rechargeable or AA batteries. Opportunities: the few things mentioned above, the antenna could be a little longer, and the wrist strap is meant for a young child or your big toe but not a man's wrist (and it can't be replaced without taking the radio apart). The price was right, and I'm glad I bought it.
