Value for money Is exceptional, also comes with two cables,one for data and one for power. Works very well on my old discs including the ones I have had stored for years. It maybe plastic,but it has a nice build quality. Ready to use from the box ,but if you have any problems there is quite a lot of additional information on the Amazon page. Very light weight and easy to store away when not in use. VERY PLEASED WITH MY PURCHASE

I'm very pleased with this drive and how easy it is to use. It was immediately recognised by both my Windows 10 Samsung laptop and Windows 11 Lenovo Desktop with no need for any additional drivers to be loaded. So true plug and play support.Both my laptop and desktop also provided enough power to the drive from a single USB 2 or USB 3 connection and so there was no need to provide any additonal power. It is however extremely useful that a external power cable has been provided in the box which would allow you provide a separate power source for the drive which might be prudent when writing large amounts of data to a CD or DVD to minimise the possibility of device disconnections if it draws more power than the single USB port on your device can deliver.In terms of discs, it has happily read my music CDS, retail data CDs for software installation without any compatability issues too. So it perfectly meets my requirements for a portable CD/DVD drive as most laptops and devices no longer come with optical drives these days.It feels quite robust and rigid and so I would expect it to be quite durable when transporting about in my laptop bag with my other devices. It also isn't overly heavy so doesn't add a great deal of weight in my bag. It has got four little rubberised feet on the base which helps it grip on shiny surfaces such as a desk and helps minimise any vibrations whilst the discs are being read.In terms of the casing, the finish seems ok for the price too with a matt underside, shiny sides and a sort of brushed diamond effect top which catches the light in quite a pleasant way.All in all this is just what I was looking for and for quite reasonable price.

To look at discs I created 15+ yeas ago. All worked perfectly fine even the ones with music. The iten is just the right size and easy to store when not in use,

This is great. Longer cable than many others makes it easier to use. Weighs next to nothing but still manages to be very quiet in operation. Perfect fit for tablets and laptops that have no drive.

What a bargain, this will play your music and dvds out of the box, I use imgBurn to burn music, brilliant.Two cables come with this unit, one for power and one for data.Nice build, it is plastic, but it's nice quality, and it really is plug n play.Great peice of kit

My PC recognised the device straight away. I've been able to rip both Region 1 and Region 2 discs so far, with no issues. For the money, this is a no brainer if you are looking a cheap and cheerful external DVD player.

Although I already have a couple of external optical drives, for some reason my 2015 MacBook Air with macOS Monterey was having issues reading CDs from both of them.I decided to take a punt on the Antika external drive, largely based on the positive reviews but mainly because of the additional power cable - I’m happy to report that so far, it seems to have rectified the problems I was experiencing when ripping CDs.On the whole I’m very happy considering the unit is relatively inexpensive and the supplied cable with the option of using either USB A or C is very useful.The extra power seems to be key to the problems I was having and my only real criticism is that the supplied USB to barrel connector cable is ridiculously short necessitating a mains power socket in close proximity to the drive.

this external DVD works very well either to play or burn DVDs or to download music files to MP3 format - very good value

Most importantly I could use it to read my old archives :)

Ho acquistato questo prodotto per necessità, (con i nuovi pc non posso piú masterizzare) e sono rimasta piacevolmente sorpresa: oltre ad essere bello (il design del prodotto, come si vede dalle foto, è particolare) è anche molto pratico e funzionale. Facilissimo da installare - basta collegarlo e fa tutto in autonomia- anche per chi come me non è proprio avvezza alla tecnologia... Insomma 10 e lode 😁

Auch die Funktionalität als Brenner ist bei vielen Mitbewerben zu diesem Preis nicht gegeben.Die integrierte Verstaumöglichkeit für das kombinierte USB /USB-C Kabel ist ebenfalls gut gelöst und hält das Kabel stabil in der Führung.Eine separate Treiberinstallation ist nicht erforderlich.Mich hat das Laufwerk zu diesem Preis absolut positiv überrascht.

Muy ligera, compacta y funciona perfectamente. Muy buena relación calidad precio.Al ser plug and play el ordenador la reconoce directamente y no es necesario instalar nada. Con cualquier software de grabación funciona.
