This coffee replacement is the best of all. It's worth the cost, and sometimes takes a few days longer to arrive. But the chicory taste is excellent. The jars and big and good quality too.

I’ve been diagnosed with long covid and POTS and need to cut back on my caffeine. Heard this was a great option but I was very hesitant. I’m quite pleased with this purchase! IMO it taste better than coffee. Took me sometime to get the measurements right but 2 1/8 teaspoon for each cup seems to work well for me. I add frothed milk mixed with Laird mushroom powder creamer and it’s quite lovely. Highly recommend. obviously still not coffee, but still satisfying to maintain the behavior without the stimulant.

This is the first coffee substitute without caffeine that actually tastes delicious! I’m on my second jar now. I’m not sure I could have given up caffeine without the help of Genuinely French!

I first tried chicory "coffee" at a restaurant in Staten Island, a few months ago. I'd eaten chicory in protein bars and other foods, but never had it as a beverage. I rather liked it and decided to start buying some to make at home. As with coffee I make at home, instant is important to me. I found this and also another brand that uses a tea bag system. However, the tea bags have to steep for 5-7 minutes while this Straight From France product is really instant, in that it dissolves once hot water is poured over it. This is therefore very easy to prepare. I scoop some into a cup, add some date syrup, and pour boiling water over it. Then I add some milk. If I want some caffeine, I add a small amount of instant coffee. By itself, this product does have a slightly more bitter taste than instant coffee. But if you are okay with adding a little bit of sweetener, all of that gets neutralized. Then it is very pleasant-tasting. I also like this because it does not bother my stomach. And because it has no caffeine on its own, I can drink this later in the afternoon or evening.

This coffee substitute has a pleaasing taste and mixes in hot water easily. I tried one brand that left thick sludge in the bottom of each and every cup (Yuck!). This product has none of that business. I'm probably out on a limb all by myself but I prefer some chocolate creamer, a little french vanilla creamer, and a little hazlenut creamer in mine. No need for me to add sugar as the creamers have enough of that to start with. The only worry I have with chicory is the orangeish color may lead to teeth staining. I guess I'll need to step up my teeth whitening routine.

I love this brand of chicory as I have ordered it in the past. But I had to throw this one away because the jar arrived broken in pieces. It was poorly packed with just a small scrunched piece of paper on one side to insulate it. The jar did not survive the trip.

When I stopped drinking coffee, I wanted something to replace it with and this is perfect. It's got the same appeal as coffee for me (minus the caffeine and other elements that decrease LES pressure) and it's a great substitute. However, and this is important, you really have to put one of those silicone packets in the jar once you open it because it attracts moisture and becomes solidified in the jar. One little packet takes care of this issue!
