Works well, but screen, sound, and fan drawbacks are disappointing
I've had my this laptop for about six months now and there are good bad points. Overall the computer runs smoothly and the Dell updates are nice to keep everything up up to date and working well. I've had very little issues with productivity or playing some mid-tier games. So what are some of the drawbacks? The screen to me is one of the lower end screens I've had on a laptop. Things looks a bit washed out and it's definitely a step down from my Razor and previous Alienware from 6 years ago. The external fans can start running out of nowhere, even when just surfing the web and are very loud, even though I use a hard lapdesk. If you're playing a game expect loud fan noises. Lastly, the speakers in this thing are absolutely terrible. Tinny and quiet, they are among the worse sounding speakers I've heard. This is my second Alienware laptop and it's clear the quality has degraded while the prices have not. I'll look for another brand the next time I need a laptop.
