The Darkness Over Arkham: An Arkham Horror Investigators Gamebook

Long time Arkham fan, first time game-booker
I've long enjoyed Arkham game products and thought this was a really interesting and portable way to bring the game on the go. Interesting story, challenging gameplay, and the prospect of additional characters to come - excellent! Looking forward to the next one.

Amazing Game Book, if you love Arkham Horror
Really fun game book. Lots of endings. Great storyline. If you love Call of Cthulhu or Arkham Horror, a must buy!

Awesome book and wonderful, choose your own adventure.
What fascinates me about the Arkham material is the depth of the subject matter

Not well written
Outside the play of the actual book and the interactions, the story is poorly written and lacks any descriptive language that will capture you and bring you in. This was poorly created.

Well written story with lots of different paths
A surprising number of endings in this game book. It features well know and loved Arkham Horror characters but doesn’t require you to already be aware of them if you aren’t. The achievements are a nice touch that makes it fun to explore new paths even if you don’t find your way to a “winning” ending.

Interactive Occult Horror Gamebook
THE DARKNESS OVER ARKHAM is the newest Interactive Gamebook from Aconyte Books, set in the game world of "Arkham Horror." Deeply founded in the Cosmic Horror of H. P. Lovecraft, these Gamebooks are fictional interactions to guide players into solving occult mysteries based in Arkham, Massachusetts, and combatting Eldritch Horrors [the Ancient Ones].I read a digital ARC generously provided by the author and publisher via NetGalley at no cost, obligation, or remuneration. I opted to review this title.

Disappointing Presentation
Nice enough gamebook, but the presentation of the whole thing is terrible. There isn't a single illustration in this gamebook, which is extremly disappointing. I was expecting something along the iconic drawings, which you'll find in FFG books... but no, nothing to be found here. This is especially disappointing as it takes place in the fictional world, that Fantasy Flight Games created and their board and card games are quite art-heavy. And while I can understand, that paying an art creator might be a bit much for such a cheap gamebook, there is something called AI nowadays (which costs hardly anything).
