I thought this light would be more programmable but it turns out it’s really relies on the use of the remote. So if you only want basic colors and the ability to do minimal effects this is a good cheap option.

I play around some with DMX controlled lighting for a local community theatre group, so while not a full lighting designer, I’m able to help control the lights for quick visual checks when we’re working on building a set and want to see how a paint color looks under theatre lights. I also know that with enough fixtures and a decent controller you can start working on zones and effects and DMX control can really add a lot to a show or other use cases for lighting SFX. While Pioleackflew wasn’t a brand I could find in my DMX control software, it seems pretty similarly setup to early identical U’King fixtures I already have, so in reality not too hard to tie into an existing low end DMX system.Where I find thee lights more useful is for some more at home uses. While I don’t host many parties myself, I do help a friend who does and when we threw a recent Halloween themed party, and they already had a lot of physical decorations on hand, the idea of asking a couple of these as wall wash light in purples, greens, and oranges added a great aesthetic effect to the room. We didn’t want to bother adding the full DMX setup and try to program anything fancy, so being able to lookup/guesstimate some RGB values and reasonably easy to program into the lights.There’s of course limit to what you can do. The 36 LEDS in this unit is actually 3 sets of 12 LEDS, one set of reds, one of greens, and one of blues, so while you add colors to blend together, you don’t get a good white color (it’s more of a blueish white) and not all colors blend well, but for the price point it’s hard to actually complain. I won’t recommend these for bigger theatre productions let alone anything professional, but be it some at home hemmed parties or personal video production to even smaller local community theatre productions, these can be a great starting point to learn with even on a tight budget.

At best, I could describe this light as "meh.." It's not good or bad. It is bright and does have a good variety of color combinations. The colors are close enough to accurate to pass by color blending in RGB mode, but there is no true white. The sound effect options are okay. You will get a variety of strobing/flashing effects with music. However, the reaction time is somewhat delayed, and the microphone isn't very sensitive. I haven't used the DMX mode so I can't speak to that. It's not the easiest light I've used and it's not very intuitive. The instruction manual is printed in the smallest font possible, and the English translation is poor at best. The construction is fair. The plastic housing is light and just doesn't feel very substantial. The stand/hanging mount is good enough for the weight of the fixture. However, the light isn't all bad. For the price it is acceptable. You do get a lighting effect that would work for a house party or fairly small venue like a dive bar. The light adds a fun ambiance to the space and is actually quite decent for the price.
