Demon Relic Hunter: A Fun, Fast-Paced Urban Fantasy (Riley Cruz) Paperback – 12 Oct. 2023

I loved this story, fab characters- Riley is so fun and I can't wait to see what happens with her and max. I'm diving straight into book 2.

Straight off I loved the story. I know it was going along with Kali's story and glad it wasn't all rehashed. It wasn't needed as Riley needed nothing to pad out or buff up her story. She can definitely hold her own. At the same time, knowing it was a lead in for Riley's new gig made me wish the next book was available 😂. I didn't think a drunk hyperactive goat shifter bouncing on Max's chest could be topped but the glitter bombs with laughing gas and a vision of Casper fleeing a robbery is definitely up there. I am looking forward to reading about the 'crews' exploits in the future. Please tell me that Helen and co still appear along with other characters we know. Counting days for next one (and praying I can get on kindle unlimited)

A goat shifter amidst wolves is the ingenious concept that first drew me to the series—that and the relic hunting premise. And wow, this book does not disappoint. Goats are wily, right? Plus, they’re intelligent, independent and they can be pretty wild. Well, that’s Riley. The thing is, because of her goat wiles, she gets away with all kinds of escapades that no other could.Hunting for demon relics, her goat shifting abilities come in extremely useful. Not only that, but her unlikely sidekick Dez, a guy who is the polar opposite of a suave vampire, does the tech. The two are new at working together. Yeah, Riley knows the ropes, but Dez is a little naive and just might put his foot in it.But, oh boy, the highlight for me was how Riley dealt with the town’s alpha. He’s fierce but tidy and a bit retentive (he has a bidet)—basically a hot bundle of muscle who must be in control. Riley is a chaotic storm to be reckoned with. To be sure, he’s never met anyone like her. Expect clash after wonderful clash, and not all of them end in an argument.The laughs come thick and fast with Riley’s hilarious antics, and I couldn’t put this down. I can’t wait for the next in series.

Loved this book so much. I can’t wait to read more and see how the story plays out. Highly recommend.

Loved this book, Riley was just awesome. Lots of action and adventure, but Riley is a lot more innocent than she realises. Hopefully Max and her friends can keep her alive to learn.

I received an ARC from the author but this review is my own.After meeting Riley originally in the Kali James series, it's nice to see her have her own series. While you can read this book without reading The Kali James series, it is richer if you have. We get to know more about Riley and its nice seeing things from her point of view, shes more capable then she gets credit for, shes fun and quirky and doesn't let little things get her down.She gets to put the skills she learnt when she was younger to the test, just not in the way she had planned. Shes loyal to her friends and does her best to keep them safe. I love seeing her grow and I'm looking forward to seeing what she gets up to next.

Riley is a master thief that happens to be a goat shifter. There’s a heist or two, great characters with plenty of depth, life and death stakes and a bit of humour too.You definitely don’t need to read the other series. There’s bits that are mentioned from that one but nothing that requires prior knowledge. It all fits smoothly in the plot without anything having to be “told”.The story was wrapped up nicely with a few little teasers left open at the end for the next book, which I’ll definitely be reading.

This book is perfection! The way Riley digs deep to trust her friends and be vulnerable with them is really heartwarming and they trust her back. This book has lots of hilarious moments (cocktail making was my fave) and just Riley being Riley, thinking fast and getting herself out of sticky situations. I cannot wait for book 2, more demons, more fun from the witches and more Max Volkov!!

I love this story, Riley is a fun strong character. As a goat shifter it might not be as strong as the other, but she learned a few tricks along the way. And I love the enemies to lovers, slow burn romance going on. You can feel the tension. Totally recommend to Urban fantasy lovers

I love Riley! Her character makes me laugh out loud. They way she teases Volkov is hilarious. Riley keeps everyone on there toes and trying to guess what she will do next is impossible. Can’t wait for the next book in her series!

This was high adrenaline and plenty of action with a touch of romance. Nice humour and a great MC, sidekick and love interest. Recommended.

Read this in a day! Riley is definitely feisty and I really enjoyed learning about her life. She is quirky but smart and, although she makes some questionable decisions, she doesn’t drive me crazy like some other UF heroines. All of the side characters are fun and added some levity to the book that kept it from being too stressful. It landed somewhere between a cozy book and your standard UF fare. Engaging enough that you have to know what happens next, but not enough that it actually causes stress. Also, there is the beginning of a slow burn romance that I thought was pretty well done. Looking forward to the next one!

Riley is a riot.She keeps everyone on their toes while trying to stay ahead of her past.She is sassy and pushes Volkov buttons any way she can.Keep it coming, we can't wait for the next adventure.
