Waste of money...junk.
Ordered one through Amazon. Though radio had fantastic reception, was low quality. Volume up was actually volume down. AM was actually FM & vice versa. Though batteries still had good charge, radio would stop working after only 2 hours. Thought I just received a dud, and Amazon was very gracious to send a free replacement. However, second Emerson was more defective than the first. Returned to Amazon & anticipating eventual refund. Ordered Sony transistor through Amazon, and could not be more pleased.

Emerson Transistor radio
Works just fine! Brick & mortar stores no longer stock these small radios due to low demand. So I am grateful that we can still find them available on Amazon. My brother likes to listen to his radio as it calms his mental state. Small & easy to carry around.

Does not go very loud, AM selectivity is clear channel only (50kw).
Some selectivity on AM, but not enough, (like a Sangean SR-35) to capture weak Am signals.FM is ok, but the volume is not going to be able to be heard in a relatively loud environment like if you wanted to hear a game on the radio while you're at the game and so on.This is powered by the same 2 AA batteries as the SR-35, but I'd rather have the SR-35 as it has excellent selectivity on AM for capturing weak AM signals. And the SR-35 is currently only a few bucks more here on Amazon if bought as a (renewed) version.

Desk radio
Wanted a small radio to keep at my desk to listen to sports when checking e-mails, going through correspondence, et cetera. I wanted a product I would be familiar with, so I looked for names like Sony, Panasonic, Jensen, and so on, before I settled on this model. I haven't had it long enough yet to comment on battery life, and it does not have strong reception for distant stations. But it is lightweight, has good sound quality, and stably locks on to the stations it does receive. I paid $12, and even through the radio is a bit limited, for that price, it is a good value.

Great radio for on the go.
Reception is good, 12-16hrs battery life if constantly used. Good sound from internal speaker and optional headphone jack.
