I got these to better move heat around my house. They have far exceeded my expectations. I have to stand about a foot further away from the stove with them on it than without them. I can feel the wind from them 2-3 feet away. They are very quiet as many have stated. The thermometer is not very accurate but gives a good idea of how much heat is being put out.

Super easy, just place on top of heat source (caution to hot is bad, not directly on cooking surface). I use in enclosed Gazebo on top of a metal chimney. It does help circulate air, NOT a lot but with the 2 pack definitely helps. Don't expect a breeze blowing in your face, but helps distribute otherwise wasted heat. I'm happy with my purchase, understand it's limitations & you should be too.

I always wondered how effective the power free fireplace fans were so I ordered the Flanagan 2 piece wood stove fan set. It came with two 5 blade, 7 inch fans and a magnetic temperature gauge. I was leary at first knowing that these didn't use battery or AC power. I started a fire and set these on top and waited. Within 5 minutes the fan blades started slowly turning. Within 29 minutes they were spinning full speed. I have a built in blower on the back of my fireplace but always worried if the power went out, I wouldn't be able to circulate air. These fans work well for what they are. I can feel air movement 12 - 18 inches in front of the blades. It doesn't blow at the rate an a/c fan will but it does a decent job of circulating some air. I love the fact I don't have to worry about power or batteries in case if a power outage. I place one fan behind my cast iron kettle and let it blow the steam around the room. I will say that these units are whisper quiet. Overall , I'm happy with this purchase.

One of the fans quit working.

Quietly gets the warm air moving. They make a little noise but it fades into the background after a bit so you hardly notice. They put off a good warm breeze once they get up to speed. Makes the room feel warmer after a bit.

the way all heat powered fans work is such that you'll barely feel the breeze. still these are moving some air. maybe i just got lucky but my fans don't make funny noises. there is a very low hum when they're spinning from air movement but I only hear it when I'm close and my house if pin-drop silent.I like them and the thermometer it nice too. they're doing their job. would an electric fan be more effective? yes, but then you get fan noise.

As above, and they both start turning at almost the same time so fairly consistent manufacturing.

I have a ray burn installed in my house and if I plunk this on top as the Rayburn heats up it's circulates warm air from the grill and heating side throughout the room expediating the heat exchange into the house.Quite handy for a small internal fires as well I found that with the log burning fireplace you can put it in front and it helps circulate the warmth throughout the room.Very simplistic to use seems quite durable gets the job done.

A great pair of fans for the log burner. They are silent in operation and move the heat around the room well. A+
