Q: Can this be used to safely condition smooth, black leather, and protect it from dryness? Does it dry sticky/tacky? Does it need buffed with a brush?

Yes, it do conditions smooth black calf leather. Collonil cream is famous for it's easy light shine effect. However it's not a heavy conditioner, you should take something like bick4 if you are looking for conditioning very dry leather, but for weekly or monthly care routine collonil cream is a great way to go. Surely you need a brush or buffing cloth for an even finish, and apply sparingly to avoid sticky build up.

Q: can this be used on "undyed and untreated" natural vegetable tanned leather?

It's a wood-only wax, so I have no experience using it on leather products.

Q: Would multicolor be considered neutral. That is? no pigment or color, just clear? Or, is there another of this brand which is actually neutral?

I have use both products on a pair of ostrich skin boots with good results.
