16 Pcs Baltic Birch Plywood 1/8" Plywood Sheets 12" x 12" Inch Thick Birch Unfinished Wood for Arts and Crafts, DIY Projects, Drawing, Painting, Laser, Wood Engraving

I bought this to use with my 10W laser cutter. It works pretty well but I found the power and speed required for clean cuts to vary from board to board. You can see in the pictures that one sheet cuts perfectly and then another, with the same settings, isn't even close to coming out. I knew the plywood wasn't 1/8" and figured 3mm would be okay. When I put calipers on several different sheets I saw that the thickness varied significantly, explaining the inconsistent cutting from board to board. Thickness variations not only affect cutting but fit if you are making assemblies because of the slots and tabs. Also, if your plans are designed for 1/8", or 3mm thickness and your material is 2.4mm - 2.6mm, then all of your joints will be VERY LOOSE and will be a pain to assemble and glue. I had to completely redesign my bird house plans to account for the thinner material. If you are only doing flat projects with engraving, or are designing your own 3D projects then the inconsistent thickness may not be as big a deal.

I opened the package and when I took out a panel of wood and sat it ony table... Only to notice it was already warped..... I have a video, but I do not know how to upload it.......Very unhappy

The wood measures at 3mm which was important to me. The sheets vary in color and grain- sometimes on the same sheet.
