Okay.
More accurately - Cars some people loved in the sixties. Great piece of nostalgia though.

Perfect slice of nostalgia
Giles Chapman has a canny knack of relieving me of money and boy does he deserve it with this new book. It's an absorbing and extensive catalogue of the cars of the 1960s, with featured cars profiled alongside period photographs, reviews and promotional material. It's fascinating to read the appeal, folly, history and thinking behind cars such as the NSU Ro80 or Mk1 Escort - all accompanied with Chapman's economic and entertaining prose ("positive plethora of possible permutations" anyone?).What elevates this particular book is the short essays Chapman includes - on the driving and car ownership experience of the decade: I had no idea, for instance, that purchase tax was as high as 60% at one point. I found it fascinating to put the cars into context - who knew that petrol distribution, aftermarket car alterations, film and tv placement, the development of the motorway and industrial conflict could be so interesting!Absorbing, entertaining and thoroughly satisfying. And yes, I've had to buy the 70s book to continue the fun!

A paperback time machine
This book really is a time machine and whisks you back to the 60's with plenty of pictures in both colour as well as black and white with an interesting narrative from Giles Chapman. The book covers both the mainstream brands as well as some of the more obscure cars of the era - remember the Bond Equipe or Honda N360 for example? The prices of the cars are equally nostalgic - most cars cost less than some of the option packs on new cars today. This book captures the cars of the 1960s so well and it's hard to think of anyone who was around then and has an interest in cars not being delighted by this book. Recommended.

Wonderful series of books
I am in the process of collecting the full set of these books, each covering a decade of car production. Nothing yet published from the 2000’s plus but I live in hopes.

False advertising.
This was headlined as cars from the 1960's and inside it's cars from Britian from the 60's. Needs to be returned.

Disappointing Photographs.
This book raises one question -- why are there so many b&w and sepia images ( almost 100 ) in it ? To keep costs down? There is no justification for this except to take refuge behind the label 'period photos.'The two Rolls Royce Silver Shadow photos are in b&w. Of these one is a head - on shot only. The iconic MGB GT was again in b&w. One can imagine this car in a matte British Racing Green finish, for example. This entire book should have been in color period. The cars I had expected to see were there alright --- in b&w or sepia; for example the Austin Cambridge and Morris Oxford, Wolseley 18/85 , Jaguar Mk X , Austin/Morris 1100 ---- I feel positively shortchanged. I so wish these cars were in color: they are such well known models ( except obviously in this part of the world). The text cannot be faulted. It is full of absorbing detail such as that Jaguar had been approached for the loan of its E Type or Mark X for the Saint's car but the company turned it down. It was a delight to see the NSU Ro 80 included in the book. Its lines are so European . I am happy to see the Rover 3.5 litre as well, the favorite car of Her Majesty The Queen and Britain 's Prime Ministers. The Ford Zephyr Mk.III opens up a Pandora's Box of the bewildering number of variants and names this car has with the Ford Zodiac: starting with the Consul, Zephyr and Zodiac to say nothing of their numerous Marks, adding to the confusion. It is the preponderance of b&w and sepia photos in this book that is disappointing.I can only give the book a 3 star rating based on this.
