Well, I remember this book that my parents had when I was a teenager - it was so much fun to find and read it again.

Precursor to My Favorite Husband and I love Lucy

Slow and dry at the start but the main character becomes more chiseled and refined with each vignette

I bought this book because "I Love Lucy" was based on it. It is well written and humorous, and those things alone make it valid. But it's light, society reading and it lacks the punch we like today. It's like "Leave it to Beaver"; all is nice and ends well. If you really want to swing just go watch "I Love Lucy". That's where the drama is!
