This filter works perfect for a little Top Fin 3 gallon tank. I have a small tank set up for Corydora fry and needed a decent filter with an intake pipe. The filter that came with the aqaurium was trash, and I did not like it. It pulled from the bottom and kept sucking fry up. The first replacement filter that I got did not have a place for carbon or any type of sponge. This one is seriously perfect. It has a carbon cartridge with a sponge and also a sponge filter for the intake. It helps pre-filter AND keeps from sucking anyone up. The replacement cartridges are not expensive (6 for $9.99 or 12 for $14.99). It is very easy to clean and does not make any splashing sounds. It has a big enough area to add your own media, if needed. The carbon keeps everything circulating to avoid any funky smells. *I just put it in before taking photos, so the tank is not the cleanest.

This NICREW filter is pretty decent. It's small and doesn't take up much space in my tank, which I like (I have a betta named Bubbles, she loves it). The filter does its job well enough, keeping the water clean and clear. I haven't had any issues with the flow being too strong or anything, though sometimes I wish it was just a LITTLE stronger, you know? Anyway, it's easy to set up and use. (I accidentally put the sponge in backwards at first, but it still worked fine). It came with everything I needed, so no complaints there. Overall, this filter is great for small tanks like mine. The adjustable flow is a nice feature too, although I don't really mess with it much. And hey, if you need to clean the media, it's super easy and quick to do. You can't beat that! Definitely would recommend this one to anyone looking for a reliable and quiet filter for their small aquarium.

I bought two and they work great! I love the adjustable flow. The filter is super quiet too. My first one has lasted me years. My second one is still going strong even after 5 months.

This little filter does the job on my 6 gallon cube; its the perfect size. It comes with a pre-filter sponge, which is nice. I do not change out the filters (DON'T DO THAT, you'll lose all your cycled bacteria), I just rinse it with the tank water when I'm doing a water change if it even needs it. Same for the pre-sponge. There is juuuuust enough room to add some extra media like more sponge or filter floss if you want, but I haven't needed to do this as it does a good job catching everything! My water stays very clean with this and the plants, although my bio-load is low with just a betta and two nerite snails. The adjustable flow works great! I keep it around the middle. And this thing is QUIET. It's in my bedroom and it's essentially silent. This is a wonderful little filter. You can't beat the price. The flow and size are perfect for a tank around 5 gallons, or could probably work well on say, a ten gallon shrimp tank. This brand never disappoints me!

It is small, quiet and works well. However, mine just stopped working after only 8 months. I always clean it well so I quite disappointed. Only bought another one because I don’t want to waste all of the filter cartridges I still have. ☹️ Update: the seller was kind enough to refund me after I had to purchase a new filter. That does my heart good. My new filter is working perfectly and doing a great job!

Great for a 2.5 Gallon aquarium. Decent flow for such a small filter. **NOTE** Make sure the leveling knob is turned against the wall of the fish tank so that the top of the filter is level. You have to check this every so many week. the vibration form the filter and even just moving the tank or cleaning it will cause that little knob to move, the fitler won't be level anymore, and water WILL LEAK OUT OF THE BACK. With the top on it, it's a slow leak but a leak none the less. Just always make sure the filteri s level. I opt to just use filter floss and it works just as good for a fraction of the cost of the catridges. Just makr sure you dont use too much or the water will also leak out of the top.

This product is one of the worst products I have bought. If you need my evaluation, I will give it a bad evaluation because it broke down in the first week and when I started using the product, it was very hot. I do not advise people to buy it and I advise them to buy any other product.

Good little filter got for small fry tank and with the adjustable flow it’s brilliant. Not much noise just water trickling that helps my sons sleep so bonus as he has adhd he struggles with sleep

I love these little filters. I have tried others but these seem to be the best. They are silent and work very well. I remove the cartridges and add mow filter media. I am getting a larger tank and am upset that I can’t get one of these for a ten gallon.

Tiny and quiet! Perfect for my bedroom 3.5gal tank. Water flow is adjustable and i have it in low. No noise at all. My aquarium was a bit milky and it cleared up after a day of installation
