A bit old but my husband who has been doing magic for 20 years says its a classic and hard to find

A classic text of mentalism (magic tricks which give the illusion of psychic powers). I think it's only a classic because it was one of the first. I found it poorly written, and more a "how to" for specific tricks than a general theory book like Fitzkee's trilogy. Still, if you are looking for the basics on the subject, or to find out how frauds do "psychic tricks" (my interest in the subject) this is a decent book to own.

When a loving wife surprises her husband with something that he has been chomping at the bit to get even though Christmas is still months away, is a beautiful thing. I was early gifted Corinda's "13 Steps to Mentalism" only moments ago and was blown away. The book came promptly, well packaged and at a reasonable price. The thing that impressed me the most about this order was a simple note at the bottom of the invoice written in Sharpie that said "Thank You" and a smiley face. I really appreciated that little extra tidbit that let me know I was a person and not just a number and that they appreciated my business. I have ordered from Rock Ridge Sales before and will continue to do so in the future.

I researched what a good mentalism book and this was the number 1 recommendation. For the price this book is amazing, it contains a ton of information. A lot of the techniques described require a lot of practice but if you want to take your magic to the next level they are worth learning.

I have been hearing about this book, and reading what other people have to say about it, for years. I finally broke down and bought it and I am glad I did. Corinda has some brilliant ideas that have applications far beyond mentalism.

Spends too much time on swami device tricks then cards tricks which is not good for people like me who want everyday item close up predictions. I'm finding it a labor to locate particular areas because each section has similarly titled chapters. I'm trying to isolate a couple of go to performances in order to feel I'm getting my moneys worth but I'm finding it palea in comparison to the $1 internet downloadable techniques that get right to the point and leave you something you can use immediately. I'm finding too much double talk and filler leading me to believe I am the 1 the trick was on in getting this book.

Though the nature of some the tricks can be a bit dated (using pencils in an impromptu situation), it's still a fascinating read to learn the techniques behind the illusions. I love it.

A must have classic for those interested in the art of Mentalism. Now look into my eyes and concentrate, you're going to be a wonderful mentalist, but when I snap my fingers, you're going to buy this book!
