I have tried multiple manuka honeys before, but this is the highest MGO count I have owned, as I normally purchase within the 400+ to 600+ range. The product comes in a luxurious box customized for the honey set, with a beautiful wooden honey spoon and two 8.8 oz jars of differing MGOs. Many of the other reviewers unfortunately do not understand the value of MGO rating and are comparing it to any honey, giving it a lower review because of this. The MGO potency coincides with the honey's antibacterial properties. A higher MGO means a greater boost in these properties. To reach these numbers, more work needs to be put into making the honey, which is what causes its value as a product to increase compared to a typical clover honey you might find in your local supermarket. Overall, I believe this is a great product sold by a reputable brand that offers high quality, delicious honey. If you're looking to add Manuka honey into your diet, or looking to get a gift for a health conscious friend, this is the perfect set for you!

Very nice gift set. I am aware of the claimed properties of Manuka honey, etc but the price on this is a bit much to fathom to me, not being a Manuka honey afficionado, and being very happy with raw honey from the local farmers market for 1/5 the price. If you're after a Manuka honey gift set, this even has a nice little wood spoon, and it's definitely gift ready with the fancy/ high quality box, etc.

I've heard Manuka honey is the best/end all be all for honey, so when I was offered to try this set I was happy to oblige. One word sums up this (and from what it seems Manuka honey in general)set = Pretentious. Tried the 850 MGO jar and while it has a nice flavor, it isn't anything creamy or as amazing as the flavor text in the packaging mentions. My wife found it bitter and compared the flavor to a medicinal rub. For me, it had a nice floral hit, but with an odd tartness that reminded me of a sweet tart candy. Since, I was only in this for the flavor, I can't rate it very high. As for all the health claims and such...not going to consume enough of this to find out if the claims are legit or if the body of science around the toxicity of MGO is correct. If you or a friend of yours is big into holistic medicine (see the honey for the medicinal claims) and you have the cash to burn...this makes a very nice gift. Completely serious. The gift box that the honey comes in is very very nice, sturdy, and looks really good.
