Avoid - not genuine part & fails after a few weeks
Went for this product as I didnt want to spend a lot on a charger for an old dell laptop - big mistake. This isn't a genuine part and the connection to the laptop became loose after a few weeks so that the laptop doesn't charge. it also gets extremely hot when plugged in which is a worry.

GENUINE Dell 90W AC Transformer
I needed this item pronto for an Inspiron 1721 so paid a little extra and received item, as described, the next day.It's slightly more compact than previous versions and doesn't have the wrap-around rubber cable tie but there is a Velcro strap provided to tidy up excess lengths of wiring.Amazingly, this is only the third AC adapter/charger I've had for this laptop over the last 13 years. The last one (different supplier) struggled on for it's last couple of years by being warmed in the oven (<50C) for a few minutes to deal with a partial break in one of the small windings.Here are a few tips to ensure longevity of laptop AC packs:1) If, like me, you have an ancient battery installed in your laptop that doesn't hold charge TAKE IT OUT. What's the point in continuously charging a duffer?2) Never MAX OUT your laptop for long periods of time ( for example, when converting audio or video files). Use free software to limit the CPU to, say, 70-80%.3) SLEEP your computer rather than shutting it down. This way the AC adapter carries a minute current and never goes completely cold. Restart the computer whenever you like but NEVER shut it down for lengthy periods.To sum up: I'm happy with this product and the supplier.
