Air Conditioner Soft Starter, MAHUIBIN Soft Starter for RV Enables Easy Start an A/C & Appliances on RV Power with a Small Generator

The box and wires seem like quality products, and it works great on my 13.5k GE a/c. The wiring pass-through does not appear watertight, so I installed it horizontally and facing the back. I may as some sealant to it. I would have deducted a star for this at a higher price point, but feel that I got excellent value.I verified that the color coding of the wires is the same as the SoftStartRV brand, then used a wiring diagram from their website. I did not look at the documentation on the included thumb drive. Mounted it with mounting tape (not included) rather than the included screws because It is a bit too long to screw on where I wanted it.Time will tell about the quality of the electronics, but right now my generator is much happier. It would not reliably start the a/c prior to installing this, but now it starts it easily. Will update if things go wrong.

Our rPod 179 has the standard small Dometic A/C that works really well to keep this sub20’ camper cool, but we’ve only experienced using it where 120v service is available.In anticipation of upcoming boondocking trip (no water or electric hookup) it seemed prudent to make it possible for our small Honda generator to power the A/C if the weather became extremely hot and humid, as it well may.This soft start came with everything needed to install. That being said, it’s not necessarily a job for the faint-of-heart. You’re sitting up on top of your camper delving into the guts of your rig’s A/C with a bunch of wires to redo. For me it wasn’t hard but I read instruction manuals the way most guys read sports pages.The included thumb drive has all of the installation information and it was super easy to print out the correct one page guide. Read all of the way through the instruction, twice or more if you need to, before starting and it’s easy.Highly recommended. Works like a charm. My Honda EU2200i easily runs the air conditioner now.

Works good had some pros install it. Very hard to install because of the lake of instructions.

Wanted to use my Honda iu2000(2000 surge/1600 running watts) generator to power the ac as it would cut out before installing. I do have an 4600 watt generator but is much larger and did have issues occasionally with startup but was fix with hard start capacitor. After installing it runs with no issue for 2 hours straight. Directions are included on a thumb drive for the type of unit you have. Others stated lack of directions but they must not stop for directions or know how to use google maps :) If you are able to read instructions and terminate wire ends and tape wires then take your time, watch some YouTube vids and follow the instructions on the thumb drive and you will be good to go.

I have this installed on a 15k Dometic Brisk air. I have that running on a 4200/3700 generator. With ONLY the AC running, it sometimes drags the Westinghouse generator down when surging and kills it. Pay the extra money to get the GOOD soft starter. This one is also really big and hard to conveniently fit within the AC shroud.

Put on our 2001 Recall Airbus. Both units and works great. Dropped start amps and can run both airs with a 30 amp shore power. Manufacturer sent a USB drive with all the different directions. Printed out the right one, went on the roof and did both in about 1.5 hours. Would recommend and would buy again.

Be aware that this product only has a 30 day warranty. I was not able to install it right away when I received it and it worked at first but it quit working about 2 weeks later, after the 30 day return period. Unable to find a support number for the seller, I went through the Amazon return process. I was able to return it but had to pay a restocking fee to return the defective product, seller's policy not Amazon.
