I have had to crank my heavy duty snowblower by hand all these years without knowing that something like this actually exists to make my life easier. The wife just flat out refuses to crank it by hand, but we'll see now. Now I just need a to hook it up to a power outlet and it works like magic. No more stressful exhausting cranking sessions to get the snowblower started in order to clear the driveway of snow. The kit included everything needed and it was pretty much plug-and-play. I had to drill an extra hole in the blower housing to accomodate a plug mount, but it wasn't a big deal.

This was a perfect-fit replacement for my 21 year old Craftsman/Tecumseh snow blower. It came with all necessary replacement hardware and a long AC extension cord. Replacement took less than 20 minutes and I swear, it spins faster than the original. It was also a bargain at half the price of other parts dealers, and Amazon delivered it the very next day. Super happy customer!!😀😀

I didn't need them but it also comes with all the bolts to fasten it to the engine. Perfect fit. The pinion actually looked like an improved design from the original. There was a slight bevel on the edge of the teeth of the pinion to help engage with the ring gear. The edge of the teeth of the original were squared off....and several were broken.

Perfect fit and OEM-type hardware and short extension cord are nice touches. Note: Another reviewer stated that the included cord will not fit the housing on this starter--it does. HOWEVER, the fit is super tight and you have to massage it in the first couple of times. I found if you tilt the plug back, insert the two bottom spades and then rotate the plug up to connect the single grouding connector works best.Check out the install videos on the web. The starter on my 20 year old Craftsman Tecumseh wheezed, blew out a puff of smoke and died peacefully. Ordered this new starter and replaced the old one in around 15 minutes. Super easy install; the hardest part was getting the mounting brackets to align correctly. Remove four bolts and reinstall them, that’s it.The new starter seems to be more powerful than the old one. The old gal was brought back to life with this new starter.

I had to bend the mounting tabs to make it mountable. Not for the novice but a real repair technician would be able to realize what it takes. Once mounted, it worked fine for the initial 3 tests.

A little difficult for removal and install (just need proper tools). It worked on first try. Good quality and had a solid design.I would purchase again if needed.
