This should be required reading for every Catholic
This is a fantastic book. I'm a big fan of the Liturgy Guys podcast, and when I heard on the Divine Intimacy podcast that Christopher Carstens had a book I was excited. It is excellent. Not very big, not at all intimidating, it is excellent for every Catholic. It explains the different parts of the Mass, what they mean, and helps decode what is going on, brings in what the symbolism in the church building and the Mass means. It completely changed my view for the Mass as something to yawn through while the priest did his stuff, to being an active participant, where I now realize that by virtue of my baptism I too am a priest and when I go to Mass, or pray the Liturgy of the Hours, I too am offering worship to God. It is an easy book to read and understand and would be great for the individual, or for parish groups. My faith has really increased and I'm very, very grateful, because it has changed everything.

Making the Mass User -Friendly
This is a delightful reflective journey through the Mass, laid out in bites that are easily digestible. In a clear down-to-earth style this short book hits all the essentials needed for an ordinary Catholic to develop a full understanding of how to participate fruitfully in the Mass. I was especially delighted by Carstens' chapter on joining in the sacrifice by offering ourselves with the bread and wine, which is clear and compelling. I would highly recommend this book for personal use or for small groups

Love this book on the Mass
I am a cradle Catholic, attended Catholic school, and have a very faithful family. I took my immersion into the Faith for granted, to be honest. This book is a great entry to reintroducing yourself to the Mass as an adult. It has helped me explain the sacraments and importance of the Mass to my niece, who is of the age of reason, and it's a beautiful thing to share with her.

Buy it and integrate it
All Catholics should buy this book and read it and read it again. So many parts of the Mass people simply do not understand or have never been taught. If this book can be integrated into your parish your liturgies will bring a new springtime to your worship.

Great for Personal Reference or Book Club Discussions
This was an excellent book and perfect for a book club selection. I learned some very easy, memorable new aspects of the mass to focus on that serve to make each mass more fruitful. It was succinct and each chapter has an "In Brief" section for easy discussion in small groups.

A Guidebook into the Heart of Mass
A great road map, to use the author's own metaphor, for the journey into the Mass. Wherever you are on this faith journey I think this little book will bring out deeper understanding or new ways of looking at the meaning in our actions.
