We received this umbrella and it was easy to assemble with 2 of us in a small amount of time. The size is impressive and the build is good for something this large. It is heavy for the lift mechanism to move up so I plan to help it lift by pushing up on the center ring around the pole to minimize pull on the ropes. Fabric is heavy and blocks sunlight nicely. It has a large area to catch wind and we will fold it down when not used or in windy conditions.

This umbrella cannot stand up to any wind. The first time we had a chance to use the umbrella, we had a pool party and a very slight "breeze" came up and flipped the umbrella. The ribs are pretty flimsy for an umbrella the size, and multiple ribs were bent, making the umbrella useless. My advise.....find something else and avoid this one.

I purchased for privacy reasons when I finally put it up long term I'm sure it will service it's purpose.

I have used mine for two summers. If the wind comes up and is enough to "flap the umbrella, take it down. You can take it halfway down for light winds. This umbrella covers completely my round 16 foot patio. It looks great and can handle some light summer rains if wind not gusting. I do think the ribs should be of stronger metal. The stand that is included is NOT big or strong enough for this umbrella. I had a old bird bath pedestal that had a center hole through it that was just right for the umbrella pole. Painted it white and wow. that is why my umbrella can handle some winds, without I am sure it would be in the neighbors yard like some of my others. Also I use large trash bags, not cheap ones , to cover my umbrella for winter. I will take two and I wrap them with tape. top, middle and bottom. Unwrapped this spring and it was just like it was when I wrapped. Threw away bags and will use new ones this year too. $300 and free shipping is great. Considering another one for kids play area.
