BHA Angle Grinder Ribbed Backing Pad for Resin Fiber Disc, 4.5" x 5/8"-11

I'm giving this 4 stars only because I don't feel a company should be penalized for my clumsiness, but I dropped my grinder almost immediately after installing this backing disc and it shattered into a dozen pieces. The one I replaced it with is more flexible and has some give to it, and not only do I not think it would break if I drop it (again) but I like the little bit of flex it provides in use. If you need a stiff backing plate, this will be fine for you.

Surprised to read some of these negative reviews. I wish I could assist these persons. I feel for the correct application this backing pad is flawless. For my application and use is relieving wood at gauges of 1/8” to 1”. I hope this review helps. Let the tool do the work and if you are forcing anything a disaster usually is result.

Worked great once I adjusted the collar---it was too deep for my Dewalt grinder. Once I took down the plastic, it performed like a champ as I sanded 50 yr old paint off my house. Stiff enough and somewhat flexible so no gouging. Yes I wore a respirator cuz lead.

I knew as soon as I took it out of the packaging that it was a cheap piece of junk. Sure enough it broke the first time my grinder fell on the floor. I've dropped grinders, with similar backing pads, and never had this problem. This item is made of brittle plastic, whereas other better ones are made of rubber. This particular item is absolute garbage. Don't waste your money.

Backing pad blew up as soon as I turn the grinder on!!!! Would absolutely never buy this product again and will post picture tomorrow!!!!!

The pad is very stiff but i like it.
