Allergy-aware, but watch the repackaging statement
One of my kids has food allergies, so it's always a challenge to find safe foods for him. These seemed great and the company seems pretty allergy aware, so I was excited to try them. Unfortunately, I missed the repackaging statement in the listing photos. It says, "Repackaged in a facility that processes dairy, egg and fish products." So, while the manufacturing facility itself might be fine, they're run on third party equipment for packaging. One of the allergies we manage is egg, and we avoid all shared equipment for egg. Darn. So, I was really disappointed that these sprinkles wouldn't be safe for my kids, after all. Never one to let good food go to waste, though, I figured I'd just eat them myself. I added some to my morning coffee, along with some whipped cream. Almost as good as coffee from a coffee shop! The sprinkles were a fun touch. In small amounts like I used, they don't have much flavor. But they do melt really well, which I appreciate. (Half-melted sprinkles in the bottom of my mug = gross.)So, these are basic chocolate sprinkles. In terms of "allergy-safe," they appear OK for nut allergies and those who avoid gluten. If you avoid shared equipment for dairy, eggs or fish, however, be sure to heed the repackaging warning and do your due diligence.

Delicious addition to sweets or alone
These are some tasty, soft chocolate sprinkles and they're a nice addition to your favorite sweets. I put them on my sugar-free ice cream and peanut sundae for a little added yum. The carnauba wax seems to be a quintessential ingredient for texture, which this has. It melts in your mouth and not in your hand. The one downside is the hydrogenated palm oil. While it no doubt tastes good, it's just not healthy--even a little bit. It's worse than sugar and I'm anti-sugar so that's saying a lot. I will still eat all these delicious sprinkles but I don't recommend pounding them in one sitting!
