My son swapped out his tablet for this book!
This book is a great easy read and kept my son's attention the whole time. He loved the first and second book in the series and was excited to read this one. It was really nice to see him reading and not on his electronics.

If your kid is soccer obsessed, this is the series for you.
I personally liked this one the best so far - my son said "good" (10 yo boys, IYKYK). The travel around Europe and the special practices were awesome. And we'll never look the same way at pasta again. Looking forward to Book 4.

9 year old non- reader loved it 4th grade
My 9 and 13 year old boys both loved this series. They are both excited for the 4th book to come out. My 9 year old is athletic but not much of a reader until I introduced him ti the first Academy book. He has now read all three and cannot wait for the 4th. My 13 year old avid reader also plowed through the series! Great books, wish there were more books in series like this for my nine year old!

Another winner 🏆
My 8 yr old is futbol obsessed and has loved all of these books. He was so excited to tell us all about the plot as it went, the ending, and, now, has asked when a fourth book is coming!I love the books because they're so well written and they are the only books that have ever had this kiddo completely engaged and not wanting to put them down!

Great Book for a Soccer Lover
We gave my nine year old the first Academy book in October for his birthday. Once he picked it up, he hated to put it down. He purchased the second book and did the same. For a Christmas gift he received the third. It’s been less than three days and he’s devouring the book. He’s already asked for book four. (Hint to author)The book is fictional based but he’s picking up a lot of soccer language. The humor is appropriate Anne he will read passages because he loves the book.I would recommend this series for anyone young person who loves the game and they’ll thoroughly enjoy reading it.

Love these books!
Haven't read this one yet, but the first two were so good! Our soccer obsessed 8yr old has picked up lessons about hard work, practice, balance, etc. Also aggressive coaches, mean teammates, how to be a good friend. It's a great conversation starter.

Another winner from T.Z Layton!
The third instalment of, 'The Academy' series by T.Z Layton is another winning book detailing the youth football adventures of Leo .K. Doyle. This time, everyone's favourite 'yank' is in Europe and, whilst the vivid descriptions of European cities and edge-of-your seat football games keep you enthralled throughout, perhaps the most intriguing part of this book is the mystery that runs throughout it. My 9yo and I are reading it together and we're thoroughly enjoying ourselves, theorising who the culprit(s) may be! As much as we love Leo, experiencing JoJo's character develop so brilliantly in this third instalment of, 'The Academy' is an absolute joy. My son and I literally cannot wait for book 4! Highly recommended!
