I have the Moozica the D-Kurd scale. Basically, there are 9 notes: D/ A Bb C D E F G A - however, by striking the smaller tongues it is possible to play the note one octave higher. The D tongue has a lower octave in the center of the drum, as well. So there is quite a range that goes beyond those basic notes. The overall sound is mellow, chiming, melancholy and restful. I tested it for tuning when it arrived (you can download an app on your phone) - each note was perfect. Bb MAY show up as A# on the app you use - it is the same note. I have had my drum for about 2 months. I've learned so much in that time and I play this drum EVERYDAY! It is fun, beautiful and durable! I take mine to a little lake in my subdivision and play at sunrise or sunset. The neighbors always comment on how beautiful it sounds. I bought a stand for it and it looks gorgeous on my bookcase - HIGHLY recommend!

My son is high functioning autistic and adhd with other co-dx's. He loves music, but every instrument we've tried, he's given up. No dopamine hit right off the bat, so he struggled to stick with them.But this! We got it an hour ago,unpacked it, didn't read the instructions, but he took the mallets and played, and played, and played. The tones are soothing and calming ---> BONUS! No one in the house complains about him playing, because no matter what he does, it sounds beautiful. I feel like I've won the autistic mom lottery! I'm so happy. I can't begin to express my joy.Even if you don't play songs, even if you don't read music, even if you're a 9 year old autistic kid or 90 years old - YOU CAN PLAY THIS, and make beautiful music. Best buy this year!

Was a big hit for Christmas. Nice quality and tone.

The drum seems good. But the carrying case was never finished. The rubber inside is sticking out on both ends. To the point it isn't closable. I tried to pull it through with tweezers and any other tool I could think, but there is no way to pull it through. Super frustrating.

My husband has wanted a drum like this for awhile and so I got him one this Christmas. It sounds beautiful; he's in the living room playing it right now and he couldn't be more thrilled. The tonal quality is very good - beautiful and soothing. In fact, our nervous dog is curled up and sleeping at his feet. I thik she likes it too. It comes with a nice carrying case which makes it easy enough to bring along on a trip - I can imagine this sounding unbelievabley gorgeous out on a camping trip under the stars.
