I bought this for a student who is a higher level than beginner but still has a lot of gaps. It didn't quite fit the bill, but would be great for the beginning student, as it was intended.

This book is suitable as a tool for someone to teach English to another person. It isn't suitable for self-learning because one needs to know English to use it! Also, some of the content seem dated. Overall OK.

Still to advanced for a person that speaks zero english to start out on.

There is no pronunciation guide. There is an English word with the Chinese word underneath, but no explanation as to how to pronounce the word in English! The student will either have to study with an English speaker or use Google Translate for the proper pronunciation

Was easy to begin with and the person using it immediately was able to start to learn english
