It takes a little longer to heat to high temperatures, but it does so accurately and maintains the temperature well. I checked the temperature with a digital thermometer. It has plenty of surface space for frying and deep frying. I tested it making french fries, that turned out really well. Thanks for making a fryer that will get hot enough for restaurant quality fries.

I wanted an electric skillet and bought one, only to be horrified at how hot the outside of the pan got -- and how dangerous that would be to unsuspecting children or adults. It was returned. But this one caught my eye because of the safety container in which the heating pan sits. I also liked the 'grilling' design of the pan surface, which is great for meats. I am delighted with this quality skillet. The electric connector sits comfortably, and firmly, into the pan, has a light indicating the heat is on, and a reliable temperature control. Very good value, especially on sale.

This is the perfect size for someone who lives alone. One hamburger -- one chicken breast -- one pork chop -- so many possibilities. I am using this several times each week. Very even heating, also!

Great for family hot pot and easy to use for those that don't want to get out propane or buy an expensive mini stove top. Cleaning is rather easy and boils really fast.

I bought this for indoor grilling. Only does so in a ring around the pan. Slow cooking is not really possible as the device heats way too hot, even on lower setting for "high" slow cooking. Those things being said, this pan is great for stews, or anything that one is heating in a sauce. Single pieces of meat cook well and have some grill marks, though not over the whole surface. Sot that is why the 3 star rating. Doesn't quite do what it says, but is great for quick- frying smaller servings of mixed veggies, pieces of meat, and stews or something that simmers in a sauce. Given that I would rather have had a flat bottom than the ridges. but I wanted the larger size. So I will keep and use for stews, etc. VERY easy clean-up. I am careful and have only used a short time, so I cannot speak to the longevity of the non-stick finish.
