Looks simplistic, but does a grand job
Firstly, I bought two of these units from the same supplier - Magicdiscounts - and on both orders the item arrived the next day - considering I'm offshore UK (Northern Ireland) you cannot beat that delivery service. And secondly before we get onto the product review, I asked the supplier (Magicdiscounts) if a firmware update would negate the unit's multiregion DVD capabilities and they confirmed it would not so let's get that out of the way, because if you buy this player you'll want to make use of all its features without the chance of a firmware update breaking its multiregion playback on DVD. Sadly, if you want to connect online and use its apps --- these updates are important for keeping them functional.I'll be the first to admit that when I unboxed the first unit I did think to myself "This is gonna be a mistake" because of its size. I was very very wrong. I guess due to the fact that my older LARGE DVD players have lasted so long I am not used to more modern compact designs, and so it feels odd they're so small. I still have an older Panasonic that is HUGE and you know what? It still works. It still works after 10 years or more of reasonably heavy use. Very impressed. This unit, also a Panasonic, comes with the ability to play DVDs from all regions. Out of the box, it comes supplied with a remote, power cable but there is no HDMI cable supplied with the unit (which is common these days for players). On clarifying that matter of playback, it's a MULTIREGIONAL DVD player --- NOT bluray. it will ONLY play Blurays from region B, as it is currently set up. I've tested various DVDs on this machine from region 1 and without question all played flawlessly, I booked myself a whole movie day with one of the machines I purchased and during that I time I tested 2 R1 DVDs, one which was dual layered. I tested the network features (2 Netflix movies and a Youtube stream for over an hour) and again, there were no issues. The apps can be slow to load up and close, but this does not make video playback stutter or lag. I should mention that there is NO WIFI capability on this particular unit but you can connect it via ethernet. Wifi offers flexibility, but you still can't beat a wired network for intense usage as they are more reliable. Before these units I'd play Netflix/Youtube through my Ps4 as I don't have a smart TV, and on comparison the apps on this player do feel a little more slower but the titles play in their full quality without incident so this minor sluggish feel to the app may be forgiven because on the other hand, the Ps4 Netflix app isn't very stable at best lately. Talking of the apps, this brings me to a very simplistic interface the unit has when turned on. It's more of the style of older large DVD players from 10 to 15 years ago but you can how ever change the unit's wallpaper so it doesn't feel so bland- a positive on this one.Now - one more issue, let's talk about its USB playback functionality as these days, digital/stream playback has become the leading source of entertainment. This unit plays a vast variety of videos files and most of which had no incident, how ever, I did find on some files it could not play the sound for some reason but played the video fine. USB playback on TVs and players like these seem to be hit and miss - some files play on one set and won't on another or have another issue. This is very frustrating, not just for this unit but even for many TVs that offer the capability to playback USB files it appears to be hit or miss for the most part. Don't get me started on the Ps4's media playback... it is horrendous when it comes to USB files.Oh, and more thing, the remote control with this unit feels pretty nice and compact --- but its compact design is kind of an issue. Buttons are very close together and you could find yourself on Netflix before you even know it (LOL!). But seriously, it's not fun playing a movie and then pausing it only to find Netflix has once again popped up. Maybe it's because it's a new unit and I need to adjust to it but I do feel I'll have many mistakes with this remote control. All in all --- simplistic looking unit but it does what it says it does without any problem whatsoever and this is from a person who has two of these units and I've played both vigorously over the past week since I got them. For just under 100 bucks, I'd say this is a very good bargain.Your turn to decide!

Great DVD player
It’s a Panasonic blue Ray DVD player and it’s been converted to multi regional . What’s not to love? It’s physically small , simple to install and works perfectly . My last Panasonic worked for over a decade . If that had been multi regional then I would still be happily using it.

Really easy & compact
Brilliant product so very easy to use just popped in the DVD for area code 1 and it worked straight away no fiddling with buttons or entering any details and it is so small and compact so far VERY impressed.

Crystal clear picture....
To note:- I have a Samsung TV (its not a smart TV)- I connected the DVD unit to my TV via an HDMI cableGood things:- Remote control is a good size- Remote comes with batteries- Crystal clear picture- Very simple to set up- Delivery was pretty quickNot so good thing:- When the DVD unit is on, a red light comes on but its so teeny tiny that you can hardly see it- As I don't have a Panasonic TV the volume button on the DVD remote is redundant- A rather sad, unassuming looking unit..nothing flashy or slick about its appearance, considering its price- Buttons on the DVD unit (to open and close try etc) could be bigger

It's a blu ray player? Right? Multi regional Right?
Package looks amazing and very compact. Easy to install and operate. Unfortunately it doesn't play blu ray discs. But it will play non blu ray discs.I'm keeping it as another failure reminder.LG was my second choice. Now my first.

The Real Deal!
When you unpack this small, plain, unbelievably lightweight box it looks like something you would give the kids to play with. But don't be fooled - this player is the REAL DEAL. Of course, being modified by TPS to play DVDs from any region makes it highly desirable to start with, and I also now get crisp, richly-coloured pictures as a result of its hdmi facility. And the opportunity to play Blu-ray discs adds much to the attraction. Also, I have to say that given the specification, the price seems reasonable. Admittedly the remote is lacking some more-sophisticated features but it's adequate. So, there's no way the kids are getting their hands on this......!
