I have been told I need a knee replacement, but first we will have to go down the route of steroid injections. In the meantime I need to give my knee all the help it can reasonably get to take the pressure off bone on bone contact where the articular cartilage is worn out/missing. I looked for a knee support that included a good quality hinge system on both sides plus good strapping systems, and was well rated for use both before and after future surgery. This one allows me good enough support that I can walk my dog for 10 - 15 minutes and also so that I can continue with building my very large carport including machining the shiplap weatherboards from flat planks. Many days and hours of work from scratch in my workshop. It does not eliminate discomfort but makes it tolerable so that I can get on with doing loads of day to day stuff. For me that makes it well worth the money.

Knee getting worse so thought I would treat myself to a new knee brace, just shows that more expensive is not always better! Fits nice and snug to start with but then tends to slide down the leg, you can tighten straps but cuts off blood circulatin and leave big mark around leg. The top is very uncomfortable as feels like its riding under it's self even thogh it was not, poor design there. Over all I would not recommend this knee pad..

Warning do not use on bare skin after a days use rashes started apearing only suitable on top of clothes!!!!!I found them quite supportive but I do not think they will last long as the welcome will wear out the deign could be improved with a clip fastner. Maybe I was blind but I did not sea any warning as to whether they used latex or it's fire safety.

The brace helps my knee alot, it's comfy, fits well and well made.

Twenty years ago I had a skiing accident and damaged a knee quite badly. After a scan a consultant said that there was damage to the ligaments and also from old age but if he operated he might make it better but he might make it worse. If it was not causing me pain he recommended leaving it alone. Several doctors have said the same thing. It recovered quite quickly but over the years it has got weaker, by which I mean that occasionally it would give way. Five years ago I could climb steep hills, albeit quite slowly. Now, in my mid eighties, I can not. I do not run across a road. The knee can give way suddenly if my foot catches a bump or a kerb. However I am n never in continuous pain and sleep soundly. However, for the last three years, I have carried a walking stick in case I stumble.Now, having just bought a Neenca Knee Brace I can walk faster, do not stumble and do not carry a stick unless in rough ground. It is magic, it really works and is comfortable. Life changing.
