Lost Ruins of Arnak: Missing Expedition by CGE Czech Games Edition, Expansion Strategy Board Games

Arnak quickly became a family favorite, but of course they don't want to play as often as I do! Enter this expansion with lots of great stuff and most importantly, a really well-crafted, engaging, replayable and totally tough solo (or cooperative) campaign mode. My only teeny complaint is that it is REALLY tough to advance very far down the paths to benefit from the story texts and added bonus cards. Even if I did well at a particular level, the randomness of the rewards meant crossing off parts of a different path each time. By the time I got to the 6th level, I hadn't finished any of the paths so couldn't benefit from them at all. Not a huge gripe as I still had lots of fun and even replayed a few solo campaigns--which each felt very fresh each time. Regarding the two new leaders, I found the mechanic really powerful and engaging, but the journalist, though a clever idea, never panned out to be useful.

This expansion really adds a lot to the base game

Arnak fans will love this expansion. The new leaders, cards, and research track options are refreshing in many ways. The included campaign mode is fun for the puzzle challenge, but doesn’t have much of a storyline. The story is light and fairly weak overall I appreciate it for the challenge but if you’re looking for a RPG experience, this isn’t it. Don’t hesitate to add this expansion, it’s good money spent.

Lost Ruins of Arnak is an excellent game and this expansion adds more variety and replayability to an already great game.

I highly recommend it, but I'd probably look at BGG first to see if it's right for you to own it.

Not a necessary expansion, but adds some variety if you love Arnak (as I do). The campaign is probably a one-and-done exercise, but most components can add variety to the main game. I love Arnak and have every expansion; I've played two dozen or more times solo and competitive. This expansion I would recommend last. The two new Leaders are fun and the most complex. New items/artifacts/ relics/guardians/ research tracks are just more stuff; they add minor variety to the base game. CAMPAIGN: Mixed opinion: each scenario challenges you to NOT play Arnak the normal way... a focus on points is a losing strategy; you must focus on the mission objective even if it means losing the points game. It makes for a good, different challenge. The story is a bit conservative but has some twists and turns; it is just OK. Side quests are disappointing as they lead to side stories that are just random (you are rewarded with new cards in your deck at the start of the next game, though, which is handy). Why I don't desire to replay it any time soon is that there is a lot of setup time vs. normal Arnak which I can do without consulting the rulebook.

This is a great expansion. The product showed up in perfect condition.

Its a campaign expansion for one of my favorite games. I am not into campings unless I can solo it, and thus one is good. If you like arnak, if you like coop/solo then it is good. No story tho, the story is very shallow and not interesting
