The functionality of this dish is awesome. Our 4 month old mini-labradoodle (~12lbs) who used to eat her meal in 20 seconds now takes beyond 5 minutes with this dish. This gives our older dog enough time to eat her meal. I deducted one star because after just over a week of use, the plastic clips on the bottom of the dish that hold the rubber feet in have broken off. She doesn't play with the dish or treat it roughly, but her force when she is eating sometimes scoots the dish along the floor. This may have caused the breaks, but I would expect this product to be able to withstand that sort of use.

My big girl, Olive, would inhale her food in a mere 23 seconds. I timed it.I am very consistent with her food, the amount she takes in, and at what time in the day it is given.The first day with the bowl, she consumed her meal in 5 minutes.Second day, 3 minutes.Third day, 2 minutesAfter the first week 1:30 minutes.It’s 3 months later now. She cannot eat her meal in less than 1:30 minutes.I feel like it’s way better for her belly, and it forced her to learn something new. Which I believe is good for brains.I definitely recommend this for your favorite, furriest, best-friend in the whole-wide-world.-Olive

This bowl is a good size . I have a Great Pyrenees/husky mix who eats a cup and a half each meal and his good fits all in . It has slowed his eatting down ,but not completely. It’s a nice quality bowl and I even bought another to keep at my parent’s house

Did it slow down my dog - yes... But too much. He was so frustrated he would stop eating halfway through and give me that pitiful look. Granted, I think it was a little too much of a maze for him... We only wanted him slowed down a bit as he would throw up after eating about once a month because he ate too fast... So we got a less complex maze and it did the trick for or dog... Oh, and this would have been REALLY difficult to clean as the channels are so small I couldn't fit my sponge in it.

I ordered the large size and my lab puppy and she could not even get to the kibble that was down inside the bowl. Waste of time. Sent them back immediately. I would only recommend these no matter the size for a dog with a very small mouth.

While this bowl seems sturdy enough, it does not hold two cups as advertised. Apparently only the large one (for twice the price) hold more. Returning and ordering larger from another company due to false advertising.

I have a five month old puppy who sucks up his food like a vacuum cleaner. My vet suggested this type of dish. I am very pleased it does slow him down quite a bit while eating.

We used this for about a year and it held up and helped my pup chill on the eating but he did start to break out on his chin so we ended up having to switch him to a steel bowl.
