Superb on all accounts...
... as well as an excellent avenue into the universe of super foods and.or a path away from the coffee habit; or at least a reduction of the java jones.Nothing but praise for Terrafoods and every product from them I've tried - the packaging is strong and the contents are reliable & delicious, not to mention good for you ~ though the ingredients have to get into your meat suit for the components to be of benefit... to that end, my instructions / tips / tricks and traps to convert these lovely fermented nibs into Uncle Billy's Festive Chocolate Water... "Good for what ails you"~ Employ any grinder you like to SLIGHTLY break the nibs down; shaking the grinder to keep from cooking them. While some powder will result, the ideal texture is predominantly broken nibs with minimal dust. Coffee grinder can readily do double duty here, as can the kitchen spice grinder.~ I use about three quarters of a cup of bashed nibs in a one quart French press.~ Unlike coffee, this process does not need water just before the boil and I bring a liter of purified H2O to a rolling boil in yee olde electro kettle.~ Any vessel would work - in theory! - but a French press really does the best overall job for many reasons; it's So Much Easier to arrange filtering out the nibs after a nice long steeping.~ After 45 minutes to an hour, do the French press thing and squanch the nibs for all they can give... Pro Tip - every fifteen minutes or so during the steep, give the brown concoction a stirring with a chopstick to keep things extracting effectively.~ Airtight storage is indicated to preserve the beneficial volatile oils; I like quart mason jars with a spout lid but anything airtight will work... keeps in the fridge until it smells off.~ French press pressing(?) will remove any meaningful chunks but there will be some suspended particulate matter in the finished product... IF you gotta have perfectly smooth chocolate water; consider filtering through a cheese cloth, I suppose.~ Shake before pouring!~ Serve hot, serve cold, addition of a sweetener is ideal (simple syrup is ideal imho though any sweetener @stevia, monk fruit, agave, etc. OR omission of sweetener if preferred also works) as is a dairy / dairy like item of your choosing. The beverage is delightful as a coffee substitute and the theobromine (the "love everyone" chemical in chocolate) really provides a nice boost but nothing beats half coffee & half nib water is especially excellent and helps reduce caffeine intake.BONUS ROUND: add a chunk of cinnamon stick and.or a clove or two into the brown water while steeping for an even more excellent and flavorful outcome but beware damage to the screen in your French press if these extras are not removedI've certainly forgotten some detail but this is Miles! cheaper than the brewed cocoa beverages AND you have raw nibs for adding to other foods, though that is someone else's review.~UPDATE -> "I requested a COA from Terrasoul and it said lead 79 ppb, Cadmium 535 ppb. Not sure if I should mention that the customer service lady tried to tell me cacao isn’t a chocolate product and isn’t a risk for lead, but this kind of misinformation often happens when you reach out to regular customer service agents." is from the only summary about heavy metals in nibs I could find. This is a BIG concern given 1) I like to drink the festive nib water daily, sometimes more than once and 2) there is NO! safe level of consumption for heavy metals 😐... further updates will follow if any other studies appear / can be found.Cheers from Texas,Billy

Consistent product
Product is as advertised. If you want a chocolate taste, you should go with cacao powder. I use the nibs for nutritional benefits. I use it daily in my oatmeal. Have re-ordered at least three times.

Very Tasty , but Chew carefully!!
I used to put these nibs in a blender with fruit and veggies … etc! Some of the cacao bits are extra chewy, but I don’t mind the crunch! If you do happen blend them in a blender you might want tosip a bit, then chew a bit before you swallow… or spit!! I eat/drink them carefullybecause I don’t want to inadvertently swallow something that might be hard to digest! “Pitted prunes” need to be eaten cautiously too! I like the tasty crunchy nibs, , but for sure I am not gulping the nibs down, because I prefer eating them with care!If I run out of them I probably will order again!

Great roasted as a coffee alternative
Wanted to try the cacao coffee alternatives from other brands until I saw the price. Decided to roast and grind the Terrasoul and the final product works very well in this application. Tremendous cost saving over the coffee alternatives on the market.

Full, rich chocolate flavor
After using a different product for several years - that became unavailable - I tried this one.Wow - it tastes so great (and I use "cacao nibs" every day in a breakfast smoothie) that I was thinking they might be "cheating" and adding sugar, but there is no mention of anything like that in their ingredients list.If you like chocolate, gives this a try!

Great Product!
This product is fresh and bitter. The taste is as expected. It has a delightful crunch and texture. I will order this product again in the future, as it is a great snack with increased energy as the side-effect.
