Product heated up after batteries inserted with a burning smell. Be careful. I have ordered this product before with no issues but this time I got lucky that we realised it was heating.

Defective an badly designed remote.
Do not buy this remote. It is difficult to get the batteries into the remote - and near impossible to get them back out. When I put a couple of triple A's in, the base of the remote very got hot to the touch - presumably from an internal short. The remote is badly designed and the one I got was defective.
